A lovely and romantic house which is over 350 years old. The perfect place to relax and to enjoy the french nature and lifestyle.
The Le Papillon Bleu is an old farmhouse from 1650 in the south of Limousin on the border of the Lot.
It has been lovingly restored with the whish to maintain the original rustic and yet to integrate the advantages of modernity.
Located in a small village (Guilles) with four other houses in a very relaxed and quiet atmosphere. Hardly any traffic and around 3-4 cars per day are passing.
The plot is approximately 2000 square meters in size and offers apples, figs and various other fruits depending on season and in autumn a lot of walnuts.
The nearest supermarket is 5 min. By car or 15 min. walk. The nearest town (Beaulieu-Sur-Dordogne) 8 min. by car. There are more shops and several cafes and restaurants, and wonderful swimming opportunities in the very clean Dordogne (a small barrage has little flow and deep water).
The house includes three bedrooms, two beds with 180x200 mattress and a bed with a mattress 140x200. As mattresses we use orthopedic foam mattresses with organic-tex certificate. The bedding is also made entirely of cotton organix-tex.
The kitchen is equipped with a 6-burner gas stove with integrated electric oven and contains everything needed to cook at a high level. Also there is a large fridge and freezer.
There are two fireplaces, a dining room and a living room. In addition there are electric heaters and small gas emitters.
The living room is furnished with a comfortable genuine leather sofa and offers a sophisticated ambience.
The whole house is equipped with beautiful solid wood furniture that perfectly match with the ambience of the house.
A small music system is also available.
The large terrace (30sqm) where you get directly from the dining room, is the ideal place in the summer. The big sofa on the terrace (200x100cm) is a wonderful place to take a nap or to look into the distance, relax and leave all stress behind.
Overall, a wonderful place for lovers of nature and rusticity. A place to completely unwind and ground yourself again. Nestled in beautiful natural surroundings in an area which offers a variety of attractions and activities.

On the property there are three old barns, a bread house and the main house. The main house includes all habitable rooms to those you get complete entree. The barns are inaccessible and unfortunately the bread baking house can not be used.
While staying I will be always available by phone or Patricia who lives close by.
We have deliberately set no TV in this house, because we believe that this promotes a relaxing holiday. The house, the environment and nature offer many opportunities and until now nobody hase ever misses a TV.
The house is in nature. In this environment, it is inevitable that spiders and other insects can come into the living area.
