This efficiency cabin is situated on owner's 24 acres, just minutes away from the San Juan mountains and Mesa Verde National Park. New queen size bed, basic kitchenette, bath, and relaxing front porch. Panoramic views including a pond on the property. Horse boarding available for an additional charge.
This cabin is one large room, with kitchenette, queen bed, rocking chair, dining table and chairs and a private bathroom. A covered front porch has chairs for relaxing and a hammock nearby. An outdoor charcoal grill is available. Enjoy the sounds of the outdoors and starry nights!
Guests have access to the property as long as any gates they enter are closed behind them. We have horses that love to escape!
Whenever possible, we like to greet our guests when they arrive. We want you to enjoy your privacy, but, please don't hesitate to ask if you need anything!
Bring your horse, (or two,) for an extra $10 per night per horse. We have two uncovered pens. Parking will accommodate a horse trailer.
This summer we will be building a new home on the property. We will be building it ourselves, so we don't expect any excessive noise or vehicles coming and going. The cabin is a fair distance from the building site, so views won't be encumbered.
Highway 184, which runs between Mancos and Dolores, goes past our property. There is not excessive traffic most of the time. The cabin is not near the highway, and there are trees around the cabin, but there is some traffic noise.
Owners live on the property; please keep the nights peaceful for everyone! Absolutely no smoking. We do not allow marijuana on our property. No pets allowed.
Since there is only a small kitchenette, a two burner hotplate for cooking, this cabin is not suitable for preparing large meals. Heavy spices are discouraged, since the residual odor is very difficult to clear before our next guests arrive. We greatly appreciate having pans and dishes washed after use. :-)
There is a saying that if you find something you love to do, you'll never have to work a day in your life...I love meeting and serving people. Having a vacation rental is a way that I can do what I love.
When my husband and I travel, rather than staying in fancy resorts, we enjoy spending time with local people in local places. We believe this is the way to really get to know the character of a place. My husband is the third generation to live in the Mancos Valley. He knows and loves Southwestern Colorado and enjoys nothing more than sharing it's beauty and history with others.
We enjoy our family, friends, horses and land. Our goal is to live a simple life, and share our blessings with others. Please come and see us!
