Welcome to Whitewater Farm -thank you for checking us out! We currently offer 2 options to enjoy our farm: 1. This Rustic Loft space which is great for couples or groups as it features 5 beds and ample space or 2. A Tiny House (see link in my profile) which is a great fit for singles/couples looking to try out tiny house living .

เกี่ยวกับที่พัก
Welcome to Whitewater Farm! My husband and I live along with our two young sons on this property that has been in our family's hands for over 30 years.

Arrive anytime that it suits you, as we are just as comfortable with meeting guests quickly to say hello or letting guests check in on their own. I provide ample instructions so you know where you are going and where to find the facilities in either case. We have been hosts for over 10 years so we’ve seen and done it all!

This rental is for the newly renovated loft space above our detached three stall garage. It currently features 3 twin beds, 1 full bed and 1 queen bed as well as a living room area with two couches (one is a sleeper sofa), large screen HDTV with Netflix, and VHS/DVD player. The remaining 1/4 of the space is filled with a kitchen nook featuring a traditional coffee maker, toaster oven, hot plate and mini-fridge.

There is *no* running water in the loft, so guests have full access to the two bathrooms and one shower located inside our home, which is approximately 100 feet away from the loft space. It is open for use 24 hours a day and we will not be disturbed whatsoever by guests coming and going as we've been hosts for 10+ years now!

We also have an outdoor shower (with hot water) and an outhouse available for guest use for those who prefer to stay outside of our home and enjoy a truly rustic "camp-like" experience. More details below:

Details on the bathrooms in our house: one bathroom is on the first floor past the kitchen and the second (with guest shower) is up the steps and to the right. This access is available 24/7 and guests should feel comfortable coming in and out of our house at any point. We are so used to it and truly live by the saying “our home is your home!”

There is also a working and very clean traditional outhouse located 100 feet from the bottom of the loft steps for a true farm life experience. And finally, we finished building an outdoor shower with hot and cold water that is along the pathway to the outhouse. Guests may use this at any time of day or night, but it is only open May 1st-October 15th.

Please note: If there are more than 2 guests, there will be an additional charge of $10 per person per night age 3 and up. Children age three and under are not charged. Maximum number of guests permitted is 7 people. Keep in mind there are only 5 beds, so sharing would be necessary.

Also, please note that this space is only rented out to one group (or individual!) at a time so you will NOT be sharing the space with strangers, even if you book as a single guest.

The style is rustic but with plenty of charm. Guests should expect coffee and/or tea in the morning. Cream and sugar available. All other food is supplied by guests, but they are welcome to use the oven, stovetop, and microwave in our main house to cook meals, or make due with the hot plate and toaster oven within the rental space . The Rustic Loft also features a mini refrigerator that is quite spacious. Jugs of water from our filtered well water are also provided in the loft for making coffee and/or drinking.

I provide you with fresh bed linens and towels for your stay. Please bring outdoor/pet towels with you for swimming in our river as I ask that the ones I provide stay inside.

During summer months, the windows and doors can open to provide a cross breeze and there are 2 fans available for air circulation. During the fall/winter/spring months, there are 2 space heaters and I provide warm down comforters on each bed. Bring layers for nights below 25F but otherwise the space heaters do a great job.

Pets:
On our property we have 2 dogs and 3 cats that spend their time in our house and yard. They can be completely unattended whether inside or outside. The animals do not spend time in the Loft rental area.

We do not permit other pets UNLESS they are friendly to our two dogs (who are outside nearly all the time) and very small. Guests' dogs must be small enough to be carried up the steps because if you look at the photos, you'll see the steps are "open air" which means that most dogs won't even think about climbing them. It is also important that guests know that we won't tolerate dogs chasing our free-range chickens. We have had two cases where a guest dog was off leash and killed our animals; a truly upsetting experience that we don't wish to repeat.

The pet fee is $25/night and a pet waiver must be signed upon arrival stating that the guest will pay for any damages caused during the length of stay. A photo of the pet must also be emailed to me before permission will be granted. Please understand - I adore all animals but I can’t take the risk that a guests’ pet will harm our chickens again.

Check in is anytime convenient to the guest after 3pm. I do not need to be present to greet you although as an attentive host, I do love to say a quick hello :)

Checkout is 12 noon.

Finally, we are offering something new at Whitewater Farm - we’ve been asked to participate in The Bench Project ( @thebenchproj ) . Come sit on our white Barnyard Bench (located under the tree by the goat area) and open the bag - inside you’ll find a journal to write your thoughts. Check out their Insta for some inspirational questions! By sharing your story with the community (either on paper or through their virtual journal online) you’ll lighten your load, find gratitude and inspire the next person who sits on the bench. “Get Outside to Go Inside” is their motto and we couldn’t agree more!

Hi folks! My name is Blakslee (pronounced Blake-slee) and I was born and raised on a working potato & grain farm in northeastern Pennsylvania, which has greatly shaped my character and passions over the years. For the past decade, I traveled across the country numerous times for work, yet considered my tiny apartment in Philadelphia to be my homebase, but in 2012 I returned to the town in which I was raised with my husband in order to start our life together on the farm.

My husband now works locally and I work on our family farm and opened a horse boarding stable in order to put the 1890's dairy barns back into business. The farm has three historic farmhouses located upon it (the oldest one dates back to 1840!), so I've also found myself deep in the middle of renovating and redecorating them as well. The farmhouses, farm buildings, and the land are chock full of history and my husband and I are so proud to call this area of Pennsylvania"home". We look forward to sharing it with you!

My life motto is: "I will have spent half my life in the city and half in the country, having enjoyed every second of each."

ระหว่างการเข้าพัก

Running the 2000 acre farm and horse stable (as well as raising our sons) keeps my husband and I quite busy, but we are always available if guests have any questions and we spend most evenings on site.
