25 minutes from downtown Asheville, our secluded cottage on Bearwallow Mountain has breathtaking views of Blue Ridge Mountains from spacious front porch. Newly upgraded kitchen and bathrooms; hiking trails surround property.
Open, light-filled interior with bedrooms & full baths downstairs and ample loft space plus full bath upstairs. Inviting, spacious front porch with breath-taking views ideal for lounging, birdwatching, dining, dancing and truly getting away from it all. Cottage is nestled in mountains and is made for people who love beautiful mountain scenery. The first time my wife saw the property she said, "I wish we'd gotten married here."
Sitting on 10 acres, entire house and grounds are available to guests. Ideal site for celebrating a special occasion, reunion, family vacation or wedding. The house sleeps 12 people very comfortably: 1st floor master bedroom has 2 queen beds; 1st floor guest bedroom has 1 queen bed--both 1st floor bedrooms have full bath. Upstairs loft space has 1 queen bedroom plus full bath; upstairs loft also has 4 twin beds: XL bunk bed (2 twins) with stair (not ladder) access, plus 2 standard twin beds and TV/entertainment area.
Owners have working farm next door and are an invaluable resource for things to do in the area. Come visit the farm and/or swim in our spring-fed, clear pond.
You will love the view, privacy and quiet while being a short 25 minute drive to downtown Asheville. Lots of bird and animal watching. Bring binoculars and a frisbee! An exceptional place to take a break, immerse yourselves in the mountains and rejuvenate mind, body and spirit. Lots of safe, visible space for children to play, totally removed from any traffic.
No smoking; no pets, sorry. A guest planning to have more than 12 people total to the property must discuss with host before booking. Thank you!
Alan and I were married in 2012. Every day we feel fortunate to have met, and we are so happy to share our cottage property with visitors to these wonderful mountains. We have 6 children and 1 grandchild, and they keep us busy. We love to camp, hike, bike & ride horses on the mountain around our farm (goats, chickens, hogs, vegetable garden, swimming pond, connecting on western border to the Cottage + 10 acres). Alan is from Raleigh, NC and moved to Asheville in the late 1970s; Annie was born & raised in NYC, Asheville since 2012.
