CASA ANCARANO: whole countryhouse, nature, beautiful beaches Riviera del Conero, quiet, privacy. 5000sqm garden, panoramic view, nature reserve of Parco del Conero. Language school, hiking, riding, golf: right out the door! In the best Foodie Region.
The former farm is situated on a hill in the nature reserve of Parco del Conero. It is open on all sides and ideally suited for families and groups of friends of up to 8 people and all those who delight in large gardens, lots of space and the quiet peace of the countryside.
The house, built from the traditional white rock of Monte Conero, is surrounded with a garden that covers an area of 1.2 acres and is completely shielded from outside views. The garden has its own vineyard, fruit and almond trees, pines and olive trees. From its historic threshing ground you will have a wonderful view over the hill country of the Marche with its villages and towns that sit majestically on the hills’ tops. On a clear day your view will reach up to the mountains of the Apennines.
The furnishings of La Casa Ancarano have been kept simple but they were selected with loving care and a keen eye for atmosphere. The guest area consists of one central sitting room, three double bedrooms, one single bedroom, two bathrooms, a TV set with satellite television, a washing machine and a large and fully equipped kitchen. A grill for barbeques on mild evenings is also at hand. In the garden there are tables, chairs, sunshades, deckchairs and a hammock, plus, for our little guests, a swing. And hidden between oleander bushes and almond trees there is an open shower that will refresh you splendidly on hot summer days.
The following are let out: the guestrooms on the upper floor (living-room, kitchen, two bathrooms, three bedrooms) exclusively for use for holiday purposes. There is no claim to any use over and beyond the agreed period. Excluded is any use of the rooms on the ground floor (stable, store, garage); included is the use of the garden. WHERE IT IS
SIROLO: the pride of the Adriatic Coast. This idyllic town is located 12.5 miles south of Ancona on the southern ledge of Monte Conero (1877 ft) on a picturesque hill directly above the sea. With its white, narrow alleyways and its tree-lined piazza that seems to reach out over the sea Sirolo is a gem among Adriatic towns. Enjoy the breathtaking view of Monte Conero and the sea during the day and the gentle sea breeze at night - preferably with a refreshing aperitif.
LA RIVIERA DEL CONERO: one of the most beautiful bathing resorts of the Adriatic. White, sandy beaches nestle against the steep coastline of white limestone cliffs. They have remained largely untouched by buildings and other architectural intrusions. Le Due Sorelle (The Two Sisters), two bizarrely shaped rocks jutting from the turquoise sea, are the popular symbol for this area.
THE MARCHE: Italy’s most varied and yet most typical region. Situated between the Apennine Mountains and the Adriatic Sea, between Emilia-Romagna and Abruzzo, the Marche offer all of the characteristics of the Italian landscape. The people therefore describe them lovingly as “the whole of Italy in one region”.
ANCONA: capital of the Marche and bustling seaport. A city on the second glance, Ancona will soon reveal its secret charms: the Duomo di San Ciriaco - the city’s cathedral built in the Romanesque and Gothic style - that towers precariously above the harbour, or the Arch of Trajan amidst the ancient docks, which were founded by the Romans in 278 BC. A walk up to the cathedral with its stunning view over city and port is well worth the while. It will lead you through the former Jewish quarter, up narrow winding streets and flights of steps, past ancient trading houses and palaces.
“Handbook Casa Ancarano”: The House Rules!
House rules always impart an uneasy feeling but they ask just a little cooperation : ) thank you!
•The house is also a private household. Therefore I ask you for understanding and consideration if the upper kitchen cupboard, the cabinet in the small hallway and the room alongside the big bathroom are locked.
•The ground floor (stable) is also locked above all for safety reasons as there is a workshop inside with partly dangerous tools.
•On leaving the house, please always close the windows and lock the door and house door. The area is safe but unfortunately there are also casual thieves in summer: 5 minutes are enough to remove the most important items such as a laptop or camera.
•The rubbish removal does not come to the house. Rubbish (including paper, plastic, glass) shall be taken and disposed of in the communal rubbish receptacles: in Coppo across from the bar where there is wonderful coffee and fresh croissants (I recommend the croissants with “crema” which are self-made there and “heavenly”.
•The gas bottles from the kitchen stove are always to be closed after use.
•dimensions of beds and blankets 1 king-size bed (2 mattress a 80cm), 1 king-size bed (2 mattress a 80cm), 1 king-size bed a 160cm, 1 single bed a 75cm, 1 cam bed a a 75cm; size of all 8 blankets are 150cm x 200cm.
Care and cleaning
•Please leave the mattress protector on the bed and put the sheets, which you have brought with you, over them. Please put the bedspreads in the wardrobe if you do not require them and cover the beds again before your departure.
•Please do NOT use any linen / woollen rugs from the house for the garden or lawn.
•Please do NOT use any furniture from the house for the garden. The sun will ruin the wood in just a few days making it dry and grey … Down below in the “Cava” there are enough chairs, tables and sundecks.
•Please do not feed any cats or let them into the house. This is particularly difficult with children but ….
•Please do NOT throw any hairs, tampons into the toilets. Blockages in an old pit drainage system are not at all pleasant.
•Please be good to the kitchen in spite of the holidays. High summer + Italy + bread crumbs, leftover food in frying pans, used plates etc. entice ants …
•Please leave the house in a well-swept state. The final cleaning does not include room service. I therefore request you to leave the stove and refrigerator in a cleaned state as well as the pots, pans and crockery.
•Please take all items which you have brought with you away again (including paddling pools and toys) and all your rubbish. Also foodstuffs (the next guests are rarely delighted if “there is already something already there”. They do not eat already started jam, butter etc. in the fridge or opened biscuits, packets of noodles, wine bottles …).
•If, during your stay, you wish to enjoy the luxury of a cleaning lady, just tell me and I can organise someone.
