The Li'l Blue House is like a summer cottage but with the amenities of a small capital city. Quiet neighbourhood close to downtown. Short drive to lovely beaches. Enjoy your morning coffee on our lovely deck in dappled sunlight through grapevines!
Well-designed small house with open-concept downstairs living/kitchen space. Upstairs has two rooms available for sleeping, however the bunkroom is not allowed to be listed as a 'bedroom' under provincial rules, as it is less than 100 sq. ft. One bathroom upstairs (not wheelchair accessible--sorry!). Lovely sunny upper deck and small herbgarden in backyard with lots of shade. Hammock available upon request.
House, deck, backyard, and 2 parking spaces are all available for guest access. Basement is not accessible.
We will greet you and show you the premises, answer any questions you may have about Charlottetown and PEI, and then leave you to enjoy the house. We will be available by phone or text if needed.
We want your stay on PEI to be wonderful, fun, and relaxing. Please let us know if you have special interests and we will give you a "local" perspective to point you in the right direction!
Guest Rules at the Li’l Blue House:
In a nutshell, we love our house and expect you to treat it with care and respect during your stay. We think you'll love it too! Detailed rules below...
No smoking inside. This is extremely important to us, as Nancy’s migraines are triggered by tobacco smoke and even residual odour is a problem. If there is residual smoking odour (or other damage) after your stay, your damage deposit will be retained to cover the cost of professional cleaning.
No burning candles and no fires in the woodstove. We all love candles but having had one house-fire in my life, I am not willing to risk another. Please and thanks!!!
Any long distance calls that are not paid for by renter will be taken out of damage deposit.
No pets. This is a firm rule unless otherwise prearranged with owner and covered by a signed agreement.
No moving furniture please. This can damage the floor and may result in retaining your damage deposit.
Quiet times. This neighbourhood is residential and 11pm is quiet time according to municipal regulations. If you would like to keep partying, there are many bars within walking distance!
Guest of guests. Maximum occupancy is three people. If you invite guests in during your stay, you are legally and financially responsible for their behavior and any resulting damage.
No blue towels at the beach please. Our sand is red (pretty, eh?) and will stain the blue towels. However we do provide tan-coloured ones which may be taken to the beach if you have not brought your own beach towels with you.
Graeme and I (Nancy) share a love of quiet little nooks and unique spaces--that's why we enjoy the Li'l Blue House, as well as our little sea-side cottage in the summer and a real off-the-grid back-woods cabin in maple-sugar season. We are both musicians--Graeme teaches guitar professionally and performs from time to time in various blues bands and I perform Celtic flute whenever I can find the time. We love to cook (hence the new tile kitchen island!) and love our two cats (they will be with us at the cottage, so you won't actually meet them). We would be happy to chat about what you'd like to see and do while you're on the Island!
