We have just returned from 2 night's in Leanne's rustic bell tent. Our two children have had an amazing time and my husband and I have thoroughly enjoyed ourselves too. Leanne has clearly put quite a bit of thought into what is needed to make a camping experience easier and more enjoyable, and we really appreciated the well-stocked, under-cover kitchen area. It was also amazing to be able to have a camp-fire just outside our tent, which meant we could use our dutch oven for proper camp-fire dinners. A word of warning though. The entrance to the tent is very low and getting in and out was a hands and knees affair. It wasn't particularly a problem for us, but might be for people with bad backs / knees.
We arrived to the tent- which was to be our bike tour stop for 1 night- after a long day in torrential rain and high wind! We were like drowned rats and very cold. So it was a relief to arrive to find the tent bone dry inside AND the wood burner already lit and pumping out a superb amount of heat! To top that, the small shower/toilet room provided has an excellent proper hot shower. Nice relaxed set-up on site. No fuss. Comfy- not posh- as glamping should be! ...and a sensible price. Thanks for helping us out with towels and umbrellas too!!!
We arrived unexpectedly late, however we were welcomed, showed around and got some local information too where to go and what to visit. The tent was as described in a very nice and private area with own barbecue and fire place, cutlery and pots, gas, table and chairs, nicely made bed and lights in the tent.
Leanne was a great host. We stayed at her army tent, which was in itself adventurous and enjoyable. There were all kitchen utensils one needs when camping, logs for fire and we were given maps to explore the local area and Dartmoor NP. Even our 3 year old daughter enjoyed the stay in the tent and the beautiful gardens and woods surrounding it. We hope to come again!
