This article of Judith and Peter is obvious written to harm us and consists remarks which are not true or not relevant. We must say during already three years of renting our villa and receiving only very good and warm reviews and what even more is important no single complaints, it is simply unbelievable that people dare to write such a negative review based on incidents they were responsible for themselves. On our site we have very detailled pictures of our house and neighbourhood and shows our villa exactly as it is. If you do not like our villa or neighbourhood after reviewing the pictures, do not rent it! As written our drive way is not narrow, even vans were parked on our drive way. Our bike path is not at all particulary busy due to Dutch standards but there are of course in Holland more bikes used than in the USA. I do not know of course in what palace Judith and Peter are living in San Diego but our guest toilet is not small at all and what a small den means on the ground floor I have really no single idea. We welcomed during the passed years a lot of older people including small kids who never ever complained about the narrowness or danger of our beautifull staircase. All those negative remarks has all to do with the facts that after three days using our Nespresso coffee machine without any problems, they did not know at all how to refill the machine with water and trying to do so themselves they damaged the machine in a way that the machine was completely not working at all. When I welcomed Judy and Peter I asked them if they have real understanding of working with a Nespresso machine and she told me that she had experience with Nespresso, so there was no reason for me at all to go into further details besides the fact that refilling this machine is very easy and not complicated at all. Next day I replaced the machine for another machine but I was forced to send the broken machine to Nespresso to repair and the costs were Euro 115,- (reason waterdamage). At the same time, when I was in the villa, I also noticed that the barn door (as expierenced later) was already open for three days and also a window of the bedroom was open. I informed them by mail to pay attention to this (also mentioned in my house manual) because there is a lot of burglary in our neighbourhood. It is than childish to write that they left the window open because we do not have an AC ( in Holland 98% percent of the Dutch people have no AC because due to our climate we do not need it except maybe some days in a year time. I also informed them about the costs of repair of our coffee machine. The only reaction was to thank me for the replacement and ignored the rest of my writing (there was no reaction at all). I came back to them asking how we can solve this problem about the costs and and after a day they informed me that due to my axientcy about the house they should voluntary leave my house asking me for a refund of 4 days! This is against all regulations of Airbnb and there was in our opinion no single reason to leave our villa that unexpected. Of course we directly send Airbnb a complete report of what has exactlyhappened and we are convinced that we informed and communicate with them in a correct way and we expect from our visitors to respect our house manuel and not to ignore our remarks. Treated like this we cannot recommend them to other Airbnb hosts and we think as they did afterwards that they can better book a hotel instead of a complete villa.

I think there was a misunderstanding about the available beds. In the advertisement is mentioned two rooms with a twin bed and one room with a single bed. In this advertisement was also mentioned another bedroom on the second floor but this room is private and locked. As I introduced Erik and his family to the house, I told him that this room was private and consequently I did not shown him this room. I was in the opinion that two kids were sleeping in the twin bed and one in the single bed. Now I understand that each boy wanted a seperate bed but Erik did not make a remark about itto me and that is a pity, because I had a camping bed with mattress available so there was no need to sleep on the ground at all. It is always important for quests to inform the host in time when they have problems, because than he is able to solve the problem.
