Assilah is known worldwide as a charming, seaside resort, a stone's throw from mythical mysterious Tangers. Peaceful, pretty, it has been a main attraction for artists many of whom have left their imprint on the town's murals. In the summer the town hosts a 2-week "summer university" and music and arts festival, where people from all over the world come to work together and inspire one another under the towns gorgeous light. Assilah is highly recommended as a "must see" on your list of Moroccan destinations.
We expect the tenants to respect the house as if it were your own. You will be responsible for any people who may enter the premises during your rental as well as any damage that may occur as a result of your staying there. Please bear in mind that the majority of people come to Assilah to rest ; we ask you to respect the neighborhood and avoid excessive noises especially at night.
I was raised between Morocco, Europe and the United States and recently returned to Italy, where I spent my childhood. My home is currently in the Tuscan hills. I love to travel, and did so frequently for many years although most recently, my travel schedule is partially dictated by school vacations. I still love to explore new cultures and, when possible, "live like a local" while sharing these adventures with my son.
My second home is in Morocco, which is where half my family is from (and partially still lives there. It is the land of my childhood summers, and still holds a firm place in my heart. My house is in Assilah, a small fishing town (once a mere village) on the Atlantic ocean, and the house itself mirrors the ocean, offering unrestricted views and cradling sounds. It is the place I return to when I seek calm, when I wish to share something special with loved ones, when I want to "come home". It is a home I open to friends and visitors alike, a haven which I hope to share with others, offering them a taste of the serenity that permeats the walls of Assilah and, once tasted, stays our hearts.
