Grandval is an elegant stone built 4 bedroom Manor house of 11th Century origins. Private HEATED pool.Superb valley views. Peaceful surroundings. Situated in a stunning region of SW France. Surrounded by picturesque Bastide villages. Vineyards.

Grandval lies in the heart of the Tarn et Garonne region famous for its wild gorges, limestone plateaus and sloping vineyards.

Grandval is our family home. Its origins date back to the 11th Century. Grandval can cater comfortably for 8 guests. Grandval offers 4 double bedrooms, 2 bedrooms of which are situated on the lower ground floor with soaring ceilings and views over the valley.

On the top floor, there are 2 double bedrooms. One of which has an en suite bathroom.

A fully stocked kitchen with pots and pans, gas cooktop and oven, double American style fridge/freezer with ice maker and filtered water.

Laundry facilities (washer and separate dryer) can be found under the house along with some pool toys several cycles, badminton table tennis nets/bats etc.

You will awake to beautiful birdsong and the occasional cow moo! The house sits on 5 acres of lavender scented gardens with a stunning infinity type pool overlooking the rolling hills of the valley below.

Some added comforts - all towels are provided as well as some local provisions.

Whilst we offer free wi-fi the signal can be intermittent at times. However, we have Netflix which normally functions well

A stay in Tarn-et-Garonne is an opportunity to taste the delicious local produce, including the famous Chasselas grape, duck specialities, not to forget the magnificent local cheeses and the superb selection of fine wines from the surrounding vineyards including Cahors and Bordeaux.

Fans of outdoor activities can explore the area with many walk tracks, horse riding, Kayaking on the rivers, cycle tours or mountain bike rides as well as a local skydiving centre close by for the extreme adventurist!

As well as these natural attractions you will discover wonderful heritage buildings, with mediaeval towns such as Lauzerte, Bruniquel, Caylus and Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val (where the blockbuster movie The Hundred-Foot Journey was filmed), an abbey listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, an Art and History town Montauban and Saint-Cirq-Lapopie which is perched on a cliff overlooking the Lot river. It is a masterpiece of medieval architecture. The fortified church and the brown-tiled roofs of the houses are a harmonious sight lining the picturesque alleyways. This spot has attracted both artists and writers over the years.

Eric and Linda are retired and Grandval is their home in SW France.
We continue to travel and have travelled extensively, having worked and lived in Africa and Asia, most recently in Singapore. We have family in LA and Sydney as well as southern England.

We are keen sailors and have sailed and lived aboard our yacht in Thailand and the South China Seas.

Our interests are many and varied but certainly include caring for Grandval and gardens,plus the occasional visit to the cinema and theatre.

Perhaps most of all we enjoy relaxing in our (we think) beautiful home, in the heart of the French countryside, entertaining family, our grandchildren and friends.

Country walking, another passion, begins at the front door.

The owners Linda and Eric are contactable during your stay should you need advice or have questions. We prefer to meet our guests upon their arrival in order give a brief tour of Grandval..We do not stay on the property. We have successfully rented Grandval for many years with many returning guests (some known internationally) and a guest book filled with charming comments about our home. Via Airbnb we hope to open our home up to a wider global reach for all to enjoy Grandval as much as we do.
