Enjoy a charming, comfortable room with mostly private bath. NB: A second bedroom is available for a family member (for a charge). Everyone loves the delicious breakfast and Shaq, the super-friendly cat. Included are wi-fi, cable TV, and brochures for Cape Ann attractions. Guests are invited to use the family and living rooms as well as garden patios. Minutes to the beach, town, and local dining/shopping; 1/4 mile to the highway and 1 mile to commuter rail.
Mine is a country-style house, filled with color and art. It's surrounded by ancient granite rocks, mature trees, a front shade garden with patio, and rear terrace by a frog pond.
Guests are welcome to enjoy all the common areas indoors and in the gardens. Coffee and/or tea is always on offer. Guests may not use the kitchen; however, there's a mini-fridge in the guestroom closet. Guests are welcome to use the grill and dine outdoors in season. Washer and dryer are not available.
I'm happy to offer suggestions of places to visit, things to do, restaurants, local events, etc. An information notebook is in your room including local attractions (such as whale watching and historic houses), tourist guides, and maps of the area. I love Cape Ann--if you'd like recommendations about restaurants, walking trails, local attractions, etc., please ask. There is also information about logging on to the wifi network.
A second, single bedroom is available for $40/night if you're traveling with a relative or friend and you don't wish to share your room. The room is light and airy and looks out over the frog pond. Inquire before booking so I can make a "special offer" that includes both rooms.
Smoking is not permitted anywhere on the property. This is a quiet residential neighborhood and we expect guests will respect and enjoy our peaceful setting. I trust visitors understand the basics of being a decent houseguest---if you damage it, you replace it/clean it. I'm sorry, but no pets (even my cat is not allowed in guest rooms).
NB Manchester-by-the-Sea now requires that Airbnb hosts be approved by the Selectmen. I have my STPG (Short Term Paying Guests) permit.
Easy-going lover of the outdoors and museums. Now retired, I love that I can spend as much time as I like reading, gardening, taking walks, hanging with friends, cooking, listening to NPR (Wait, Wait is a favorite!), knitting, watching movies, and doing word and video puzzles. On my bucket list are New Zealand, Cuba, and Tuscany. I'd love to RV around the Pacific Northwest.
