การสื่อสารกับผู้เข้าพัก

The retreat's GM, Eberly Sharier, has lived in VT for over 15 years and is extremely approachable, good-natured and funny. She has many years of top-notch hospitality experience and is here to make your experience exceed your expectations. Steve Eisner, who manages the writer's retreat, is also around and can help answer any questions or direct you to the best restaurants and places worth seeing in the area.

สิ่งอื่นที่ควรรู้

The retreat is sometimes shared with a writer’s workshop called "When Words Count". So, sometimes you'll be sharing the grounds with some aspiring writers during your stay. This workshop includes a 3-course dinner for their writers. If that’s something you’re interested in, please let us know at least 24 hours in advance and we’d be happy to include you for dinner. Dinner is $30, which includes state tax.

AT&T works very well here for cell reception, Verizon does not.

Generally, we only ask you be respectful of other guests. Other than that, it's a very laid-back atmosphere.

As mentioned, our kitchen is sometimes shared with the writer's workshop. When their chef is using the kitchen, we can't allow guests to be in there at the same time, but when it's empty we do allow limited kitchen use.

Breakfast is served from 8:30-9:30am.

Tommy was very helpful when we discovered we had booked the wrong date on our travels. He managed to fit us in a night early. The house is set in a lovely peaceful rural setting. Perfect place to relax or go for walks.

Beautiful, quiet B&B in the Green Mountains. Loved the book themed rooms and the breakfasts. I would definitely stay there again! :)

My stay in Rochester was wonderful! I stayed two nights with my ten year old daughter, in the Emily Dickinson room, which was very comfortable. I would upgrade to a room with a private bath for next time, however. The room and entire home, including the basic bath which was shared, were very clean and orderly. The staff was great, with attention to detail. I think one of the most interesting things was the fact that this property houses weekend writer's workshops, and although we were not part of that, we were welcomed to partake in meals and discussion. My daughter loved it, as she discussed classic literature with the attendees! The town of Rochester has been a long favorite of mine, having lived in beautiful Vermont for 13 years. Wonderful food can be found in town, as well as galleries and amazing hikes, biking, etc. Skiing is nearby as well. We will be sure to be back!

The house was lovely. The mountains outside looked beautiful. My friend and I drove later at night to the house and I would not recommend that in the winter because the road is a bit icy. The breakfast that is included in the stay was really good (blueberry pancakes, bacon, yogurt, nuts/dried fruit, and fresh fruit). The writers that were on retreat were great to talk to over breakfast as well!

Great communication before we arrived so we knew where to park and how to find our room in case our host wasn't there when we arrived. We ended up not meeting our host due to our late arrival and early departure, but the room was spacious and clean, the surrounding area breathtaking. Great if you're looking for a rural Vermont experience.

I loved the peacefulness and the beauty of the location. It was down a long dirt road far from any highway so there was no hum from cars on a distant road. The scenery was breathtaking. We stayed in the Emily Dickinson room. If I had had more time I would have finished reading the biography of Emily Dickinson that was in the room as well as a collection of her poems. The room was clean, the bed comfortable, our host was pleasant. There was french toast and yogurt and granola for breakfast. We sat at two tables with other guests. We enjoyed hearing their stories. There were several living rooms on the first floor, one with a TV that I would have liked to have spent time in if my stay had been longer. Driving down the long dirt road to the B&B we passed a farm with chickens, alpacas and goats. Very cool!
