This lovely Victorian Period Townhouse is literally a 2 minute walk away from York Minster with the City Centre on your doorstep. The house also has a courtyard garden and has the additional feature of secure parking for up to two cars.
As the house sleeps up to 9 people and it is in a residential area, we need to ensure that noise levels/guest's behaviour is not going to affect adjoining neighbours. We therefore request the following:
You agree not to cause any damage to the walls, doors or windows of the Property and will not hang anything on the 'street facing' windows or doors (e.g. banners, balloons etc). This is to avoid drawing any attention to the property or potentially offending the neighbours.
You agree not to do anything that may be reasonably considered to cause a nuisance or annoyance to us or to any other occupier of adjoining or neighbouring properties. This includes how you dispose of rubbish and recycling to avoid a vermin infestation - Full instructions are in the house.
You agree that this is a 'holiday home' set in a residential area and is not a 'party venue'.
No music is to be played in the garden whatsoever or no music is to be deliberately amplified in the house so that it can be heard in the garden especially when the patio doors are open - this is at any time of the day as a matter of courtesy to the neighbourhood. Likewise, noise from guests from within the house that can also be heard in the garden (e.g. on long, warm summer evenings when windows and patio doors could be open) needs to stop by 9.30pm/10pm (e.g. close patio doors and windows).
Having a garden especially in the Centre of York is very unusual - the garden is thus surrounded by neighbouring gardens where children live/play. If all 9 guests are out there together, the noise can be quite significant. We request that guests regard the use of the garden as a family would use it e.g. a quiet space/chill out zone preferably for a few members of the group at any time e.g. for smoking, reading, children playing etc . We particularly request that you avoid the whole group convening out there for long periods of time (e.g. enough time for cooking/eating a BBQ).
If there are any members of the group in the garden, then noise levels need to be considerate e.g. no shouting, swearing, party games or constant raised noise due to too much alcohol. No noise is to be made in the garden whatsoever by 9.30pm
Any entertainers, amplified equipment, karaoke machines or other music systems are prohibited from being brought into the property. (There is a portable IPOD docking system and also a music system via the TV provided).
You agree that if the neighbours make a reasonable complaint about noise levels or if there are any other concerns, we can charge a call out/admin fee £40 per visit and also charge for damages to the business. If we fail to resolve the situation with you, we are in our rights to terminate your holiday and ask you to leave with no refund for the remainder of your stay. We will call for police assistance if it is required.
You cannot allow more people to stay in the Property or be on site than expressly authorised (this includes visitors), nor can you significantly change the makeup of the party during your stay in the Property, nor can you take your pet into the Property unless it has been arranged in advance and it is shown on your confirmation. If you do so, we can refuse to hand over the Property to you, or can require you to leave it. We will then treat any of these circumstances in this paragraph as a cancellation of the booking by you.
You agree to allow us or any representative of ours access at any reasonable time during your stay for the purpose of essential
