More than five stars are needed to describe my wonderful stay with hosts Li and Redi! This beautifully landscaped waterfront location delights from sunrise to sunset. My room was spotless and thoughtfully supplied with nice linens, towels, coffee set-up and bottled water. The neighborhood is ideal for walking or running. It was fun to explore the lagoon by kayak. Li was warm, helpful, and responsive; she made me feel very welcome. I could not be more thrilled with my first airbnb experience. Looking forward to my next visit!

I had a great stay at Li's home, it is beautifully situated by the lake as shown in the pictures. I think I got the best view from the room I stayed. It was really great scenery after such a long trip, perfect for winding up. Everything was ready in the room, even water bottles. The neighborhood is very nice if you want to exercise and there is a bus line very near. Li is a very warm and kind host, I an glad I got to meet her.

Li is a wonderful host - friendly and helpful! And she immediately fixed the electricity problem in my room after an unexpected power surge. Her home is lovely and the room with private bathroom and separate entrance allows for privacy. Waking up in the mornings next to the water with ducks and birds around is a luxury.

I've stayed with Li for about two of my three months in the Bay Area. It has been my favourite Airbnb experience by far. I hope to be back in Li's space very, very soon. It truly felt like home. I had everything I needed (and more!). Li equips all of her bedrooms with a mini kitchenette — I had my own fridge, microwave, Crock-Pot, cutting boards, etc. I loved having my own bathroom (which has a massive shower, by the way!) and it was really convenient to have a separate entrance that locks with a code, so I never had to carry a key. I could watch TV while in bed or in the super comfy lounger chair in my room. My favourite part of the room, however, was the big sliding door that leads onto the patio and is about 15m from the water! The water…Li has a paddle boat and kayak which she immediately offered I use. I went for a sunset cruise with the kayak, and had our neighbourhood swan join me for parts of it. Loved it. You get to watch all kinds of birds while on and around the water; I spent entire days on the patio soaking up the November sun and watching birds or reading or chatting to Li or playing with Redi (Li’s 5-year-old Vizsla). I think what really made it 'home' though were Li and Redi. In many ways Li has become my American/Swedish mom, and friend, and housemate and tour guide! Li’s introduced me to incredible places all around the Bay Area and during the many times we took Redi for a walk I found myself wondering whether it’s a bigger treat for Redi or for me. Li has made me feel completely part of her home. We shared mornings on the patio, evenings in front of the fire, the coffee maker, bicycles, and Redi of course! It’s been such a fulfilling stay. I want more and more of it! So, thank you, Li. Really, thank you.

I've stayed here as a repeat guest now for the 4th or 5th time. I love it more each time. Meeting Li and Redi and living with them in their home remain 2 of my favorite experiences here in California. I will never forget the sunny November mornings on the patio, with coffee, a book, the view, kayaking neighbors and of course the swan and the many other birds. As always, can't wait to be back!

My name is Li (pronounced Leigh) and I am a semi-retired landscape designer after 25 years of an exciting and rewarding career. I grew up in Stockholm, Sweden prior to moving to California in 1980. I lived in various places on the San Francisco Peninsula for six years before settling into a home in Redwood Shores.

Twenty years later a longtime dream was fulfilled when I ventured up to the Sierra Foothills and bought a home in a country setting. Since the Redwood Shores house was rented out to long-term tenants, I purchased a small studio condo in downtown San Mateo. That way I would have a place to stay while commuting between the Sierra Foothills and the Bay Area for work.

I have loved each home; all of them special and in very different environments... It is actually really fun to have three such unique places and I enjoy each of them for what they have to offer. I hope you will too!

When I discovered Redwood Shores and bought a house on the water, it felt like I had found my spot. To be near the vibrant city life, yet, to have the tranquility and ever-changing water views right in your back yard is such a treat. I also love to walk the wonderful Bay Trail along the levees and enjoy the tidal marshlands with all the birdlife (white pelicans, cormorants, sandpipers, egrets, herrons and ducks to mention a few).

Because the home is in an HOA (Home Owner Association) area, there is a requirement that rental agreements are for 6 months or longer.

This is a home on two acres with a large seasonal pond, situated on a private airstrip at 2600', which is above the fog line and typically below the snow line. It is fun to fly into this small community airport and taxi right into your own hangar. It is a magical place for aviation enthusiasts to enjoy the area for a visit or long-term stay. Imagine commuting to the Bay Area for work by air instead of driving in heavy traffic... :-)

This is a tiny little place, only 370 sqft, yet has all the conveniences needed in a home. I fell for the western exposure balcony with a view of the distant hills of San Mateo, the private underground parking, the two blocks to downtown and the train station. I also love the short walk to Central Park with its Japanese Garden, Arboretum and the recreation center with many organized activities.

The condo is on the top floor of a three story 55+ building, which means guests have to be at least 55 years old to stay here.

I am looking forward to meeting people from near and far... I hope that you will have a good experience while staying in one of my homes!

Med vänlig hälsning,
