Lovely One Bedroom split level flat in village of Zrnovo, newly decorated with beautiful views
Staying at Božena's place was a unique and genuine 12-day experience of Korčula island. She was very responsive before our arrival, so we could come earlier. When we arrived she helped us to carry things inside. The apartment was the same as described, very clean, cold and smelling fresh. We got a chance to know her and Korčula life better as she invited us to her place with a vineyard where we met new local people while eating delicious local food and drinking good vine. Furthermore, we tried their local specialty "Žrnovski makaruni at her place" (try it) :) We would not hesitate if we would have a chance to extend our travel as we had a great time. As it was such a great experience I believe we'll return soon :) There were much more positive moments and other experiences, but we can't share all of them with you :) You'll have to try it for your self and experience Korčula at Božena's place. Thank you Božena!
The apartment is located in a quiet village inside the island. It is well equipped, modern and with air conditioning. If you have a car it is very easy to park and to reach Korcula town and all the beachs. Comunication with Bozena was perfect. She was really nice and we absolutely recommend this place to anyone visiting Korcula
Bozena was the best Airbnb host we have had yet! She was so hospitable and absolutely lovely that it made our stay in Korcula memorable. The apartment was great. Bottom floor had a kitchen with cooking utensils, crockery, cutlery and basic pots/pans along with a gas+electric stove top, oven and fridge. There's a small dining table, couches and nice views. Top level had a bathroom and really decent bed. It's pretty close to the city but it does help to hire a scooter or you can taxi (70 kuna) / bus (18 kuna) otherwise its a nice 45 minute walk to town. I definitely recommend staying here because of Bozena, the quiet neighborhood and lovely apartment.
We stayed two nights at Bozena's apartment in the little village of Zrnovo. Not having hired a car, Bozena kindly met us at a cafe shortly after our ferry got in and drove us to the apartment. She also drove us into town one day and organised our taxi to the ferry terminal the day we checked out. The apartment itself is well maintained and cozy. The bedroom is upstairs and connected to the ground floor by a narrow spiral staircase, so we had to leave our heavy luggage on the ground floor. The buses into town are not very regular. If like us, you are on public transport, you can find the bus (EMAIL HIDDEN) and the bus company is Autotrans. We used them to bus to and from Zrnovo to Korcula town and from Korcula town to Lumbarda. You can buy tickets from the driver or at the bus station in Korcula town. A return ticket is cheaper. A taxi to the ferry the day we checked out cost just over 80 kuna. The bus is 18 kuna one way. The last bus from Korcula town to Zrnovo leaves at 6.30pm so you would need to get a taxi back. Also be aware that Zrnovo is split into two villages. We didn't realise this so the first time we got the bus back we got off at the wrong village and had to walk 25minutes to our village (Zrnovo Postrana). The walk was beautiful though. If you are after a quiet stay in a small village away from the tourists we would recommend staying at Bozena's. Perhaps an easier stay with a hire car.
