We are a friendly and sociable couple who like to travel and meet people. We enjoy having guests but are also conscious of boundaries based on interests and time. We are happy to provide information on local attractions, our favourite spots, and things that might be interesting to travellers. A guided tour of newcastle can be arranged if time permits. There is a tourist map and some local information available in the room. We have lived in Newcastle for many years and are happy to share our local knowledge.
Newcastle is the gateway to Port Stephens, the beautiful vineyards of the Hunter Valley and Lake Macquarie, all accessible for a day's drive. Tourist and local buses can also be caught to these destinations. We have a small friendly dog called Frida. She is generally quiet but does occasionally act as a guard dog with the local cats!
No smoking please, tidy up after yourself returning things to where you find them, lock doors and windows if you come and go when we are not at home, respect our neighbours and talk to us about parking. No loud music or late night parties! Please don't cook meat other than seafood in the house- that's not to say you can't buy it and eat it here.
We like living a comfortable and creative life involving people, simple pleasures and the natural environment. We can't live without healthy food, fresh pure water, feeling the freshness of the seasons, spending time with those we love and meditation. We like traveling, reading, movies and our work which is teaching adults. You will find us assertive, easy going and considerate. We are excited by traveling and have always thought how difficult it is to get off the tourist trail and actually meet the locals - that's why we like Airbnb and sharing our experience of our city and culture.
