Sunny, open, two-story home with 3 queen bedrooms. During the winter each bed has a cozy down comforter, and always luxurious
600-800 thread count 100% Egyptian cotton sheets and each bathroom has highly absorbent, natural fiber bath towels. For our guests protection, each mattress and all four pillows for each bed are encased in hypoallergenic, waterproof protectors to assure against unwanted critters (not ever seen in this area, but just in case) dust mites, bed bugs, pollens and allergens. No matter the season, our home is easy to be outside or in. Three outdoor tables and chairs, one on each veranda level with umbrellas in the summertime. Get-away library and nooks and crannies throughout the home to read and nap. A cozy fireplace and all the firewood you can possibly use. We are a 7 minute drive or 20 minute bike ride to the Healdsburg plaza, perfect for visiting the Downtown Bakery & Creamery, wine tasting and enjoying world-class restaraunts. There are two local bookstores, a french bakery, Flying Goat coffee house, art galleries and retail shops for jewelry, fine clothing and kitchen wares. Head for a hike up Fitch Mountain or a bike ride on the logging trail outside our front gate. Put your kayaks in the river (but watch out for the early morning river otters!) and float down to Memorial Bridge.
All parts of the household and grounds are open to guests. A private road called Eagle Rock meanders past our fence down to our neighborhood swimming hole and beach on the Russian River. Pack a picnic and spend an afternoon swimming and climbing around Eagle Rock.
You will be the only occupants of the propery during your stay. Our property host Cynthia is a few minutes away and as close as a phone call if you need anything.
It's a very quiet neighborhood, until baby egrets and heron chicks hatch late in the spring. You can watch from the floor to ceiling glass windows as the adult herons sailing back and forth from the river with fresh fish for baby's dinner. During the winter, you'l stay warm in front of the fire place in the fireplace and there's as much wood as you need for your stay... Find a quiet library to be be alone or celebrate with family and friends outside on one of the three stone verandas. Dine alfresco using the the wrought iron tables and chairs on any one of the terraces or in the garden.
This is a perfect spot for families of four adults, or for three or four friends.... Though children are welcome, our many stone terraces, brick steps and unfenced open space require you to keep constant watch on youngsters who could wander off towards the river or forest.
No smoking anywhere on the property.
