Halfway between O'Hare and the Loop, private bedroom/bathroom in a sunny third floor walkup apartment, with HUGE walk-in shower, access to fully appointed kitchen, queen bed, Washer/dryer, Wi-Fi internet, premier cable TV/Netflix, all amenities. Blue Line or street parking. Please check map before booking.


A luxurious private queen sized bed in a spacious 3rd floor walk up (no elevator) in a huge, sunny 4 bedroom apartment with 1.5 bath. Totally gut-rehabbed in 2014. You will have the master bedroom. You are welcome to use the fully equipped kitchen; just clean up after yourself. You will enjoy super fast Wi-Fi internet, premium cable TV/Netflix and a 50 inch smart TV. Please check the map before you book. This is great access to freeway and close to O'Hare and short drive to hot spots down town, even closer to Bucktown, Wicker Park, really close to Logan Square but NOT walking distance to much.


Guests have full access to the kitchen and living areas. But you do not have access to the 4th bedroom/back office. I work there on weekdays, and I will generally be gone from the rest of the flat at other times.
This listing is for the master bedroom.
However, the apartment is fully furnished for a large family, with a twin daybed in one room, bunks in another for when my kids come to stay. If you want the whole place we can make it available in between their visits. It is listed on AirBnB as "Mayfair 3BR"
If you want a completely separate space, I have a 2 bedroom, 1 bath garden apartment in the same building listed on AirBnb as "Mayfair 2 BR I94/90/BlueLine"


You can call or text me pretty much any time if you have any questions or need anything at all.
I work from home, and I live in the unit. You will have access to the living and dining area, along with the kitchen, and both full and half bathrooms, but not to the fourth bedroom/office at the very back of the building, where I will work on weekdays, and where I may sleep. I'm often gone in evenings overnight. I won't get in your way. I'm rarely around when guests are staying in my place. But close by if you need me.
I am happy to act as a host and provide tips on where to go and what to see, or to just leave you on your own.


Street parking out front. (Free, but watch for monthly street cleaning sign).

Groceries are a short drive away, about half a mile, several places—easiest is Jewel on Cicero Ave and Irving Park Road, where you will find a Sears, and several other shops in a strip mall.
I really prefer the fruit & vegetable market on Cicero Ave, between Irving Park & Montrose (it's closer than Jewel, fresher, and even has a butcher shop—but

Mayfair Park is only four blocks and there are churches and temples and mosques nearby. There is a great sports bar two blocks away and several pubs and a well known Karaoke place.
And three blocks away is a famous burger stand and soft serve joint (Susie's) that's open 24 hours!
Great Middle Eastern restaurant a few blocks away. And I order pizza all the time from Saparinos.

If you really want to experience the "foodie" part of Chicago, it's a short drive or L train to Logan Square, or Armitage & Western or to North Ave & Damen, where you can find several hundred restaurants and bars. Then come home to peace and quiet in my hood.

We completely renovated the nearly 100 year old building in 2014. All new plumbing, water service, mechanicals, floors, new bath rooms with huge walk in shower and fully appointed kitchen with new appliances, Kuerig coffee maker (a wide selection of k coup coffee and tea bags), toaster (we provide the bread and muffins) etc. So everything works.
Regarding our old building: You will hear the tenants downstairs moving around and they will hear you if you have the TV or music turned up or if you have loud voices or stomp around. Please moderate your sound, including your footsteps, so that we minimize disturbing the neighbors, especially after 10pm.

We welcome families with children, however we do not rent to individuals or groups under the age of 21.

No drugs, no smoking. If you smoke, there is a $500 cleaning fee. If you do drugs? We will ask you to leave.

Pets may be allowed if we discuss it beforehand.
If you bring a pet, we require a $250 security deposit for the pet, in addition to the regular deposit.

If anything isn’t working, please contact Jeffrey immediately. Text message is probably best. Reach out if you need anything for the apartment or you just want advice on where to go and what to do.

Checking in and out
We will provide instructions in advance of your stay. If you need to make special arrangements please contact Jeffrey.
We ask that you not use the rear access except to empty waste cans if that is necessary.

There is a manual inside the "book" box on the coffee table with instructions for the printer/scanner, TV, DVD, coffee maker, dishwasher, washer and dryer and HVAC.

No candles.
Use the coasters, trivets and placemats to protect the furniture.
If you have a small child who is still in diapers traveling with you, please take any soiled ones to the garbage cans in the backyard next to the alley ASAP (before you leave for the day). Do not leave them in the trash.

Basically, we just ask that you treat the apartment well, and have a great stay. And we hope that you will want to come back again.

Jeffery is a gracious host. He made feel welcome and at home, from the time we arrived to the time we left. His place is on the third floor of the building. The stairs are are easy to climb and have a landing on each floor. The pictures on listing give a perfect view of the apartment. We chose Jeffery's because it was a little over a mile from the home of our relatives that we spend Thanksgiving with. We would stay with Jeffery again, when we spend another holiday with relatives in the area.

Jeffrey actually picked me up from the train station! His place was described perfectly and was very comfortable to stay in. He is extremely knowledgable and helped me plan out some bus routes to get to places I wanted to see, and he recommended some amazing places I would not have visited on my own. I would definately stay there again! Thanks for the great trip!

Jeffrey's place is immaculate. The bedroom is lovely and bright, the bathrooms are new as is the kitchen. He clearly takes a lot of pride in his home. He has a lovely basket of snacks for guests, along with tea and coffee. The living room furniture could use a bit of an update, but it's not a big deal. I felt quite comfortable there. As Jeffrey says in his listing, if you are looking for a place in the thick of things, this is definitely not the place for you. It's entirely residential and there's not much around in terms of restaurants, etc. But it's very peaceful and it's right on the blue line with fast access to O'Hare. If you don't mind a 30/40 minute commute to downtown then it would be fine.

I can truly say that Jeffrey was a great host to me and my friends that traveled from Los Angeles to Chicago for a fun guys trip. The apartment was clean and Jeffrey went above and beyond by providing us with snacks and even breakfast food. He was also a big help in providing us with information on local places to eat and shop.

Very well located. Nice and quiet place very near to the railroad blue line, that opens 24 hours and goes to Chicago Downtown and O'Hare International Airport. Jeffrey is a very nice host and is open to help you anytime. You can use all the facilities of the house. Excellent internet and great amenities like tea and coffee. Awesome mattress. Very clean bathroom!

Jeffrey was a great host with lots of tips and advice on special places to go and things to see. I wouldn't have got to the Green Mill without his suggestion which was one of the highlights of my stay. The accommodation was scrupulously clean with breakfast available and tea / coffee and snacks always on offer throughout the day. Kitchen and laundry services were excellent. When I had questions, communication via text messaging with Jeffrey throughout the stay was good. Would recommend.
