Private bedroom and bath within a gated community. Walking distance to many great restaurants, shops, bars, hike and bike trails, and more.
This guest room is located on the first floor of a three-story townhouse. It has a queen size bed, walk-in closet, plenty of dresser drawer space, and a private, attached bathroom. This is the only room on the floor, located just inside the main entrance with access to the garage as well. The house is in a gated community and the surrounding neighborhood is very safe. Because you are on the ground floor, you may hear occasional noises from upstairs - like footsteps, kitchen activity, etc. But nothing too loud or at odd hours. I work M-F and am usually out the door by 8am, home around 5:30pm. My boyfriend Nick is self-employed and may be around more often than I am during the day. Other than the occasional upstairs noise(s), you may hear the front and/or garage door opening and closing as we come in and out. The room does not have a ceiling fan; we keep the thermostat around 73 for the most part (of course, lower if it's insanely hot outside and higher if it's cold), but your room is equipped with a personal heater as well as a tower fan if needed. Bed linens, towels, toilet paper, and basic toiletries provided.
Shared spaces include a full kitchen, half bath, and living/dining room located on the second floor. Cable TV and Wifi is available in your room as well as the living room. You may feel free to use any of the kitchen appliances, dishware, utensils, and paper goods. However, groceries (with the exception of coffee) will need to be your responsibility. You're welcome to use the fridge to store any grocery items. Just be sure to keep things tidy and clean up after yourself. Street parking is available.
Up to you! We will fully respect your privacy but are also more than willing to assist you with anything you may need. Nick is a great cook as well as a musician and entertainer - so he knows all the cool places in town! We're happy to host you and show you a good time.
Please keep in mind that this is an occupied residence so there will be occasional noises such as the garage door opening, running water, and foot steps. We will certainly try our best to minimize any noise to make your stay as pleasant as possible.
We have a 9-pound Brussels Griffon that is very sweet and friendly. She's very quiet and will stay in the master bedroom on the 3rd floor, so unless you're in one of the shared spaces with us, I doubt you'll even know she's there. She doesn't go in the guest room so you don't have to worry about dog hair if that concerns you.
I volunteer at a local animal shelter and occasionally bring home foster puppies and small dogs. I will always give you a heads up though if additional animals will be at the house during your stay.
The house has an alarm system - you'll be given a unique code to use during your stay.
Pets may be welcome on a case-by-case basis. Please inquire with details about your pet.
No smoking inside, but the balcony is fine.
No extra guests or friends allowed. Unless they're famous. ;-)
