The apartment retains the charm of the 1930s with its high ceilings, traditional French windows and doors but has been updated to today's standards for the kitchen and bath. And, of course, a solid wireless internet system. The location is great. Close to bakeries, shopping and the lake. It is only a few blocks to Old Town, but in a quieter preferred residential neighborhood. The Saturday market is next door!
The apartment is perfect for a couple wanting some extra room to relax. It is, however, spacious enough to sleep up to six. There is the main bedroom with a queen size bed, bedside tables and armoire. A second bedroom with two single beds, an armoire; or a staging area or place to keep bicycles. (Bike racks are on one of the walls.) A third room with a fold out sofa for larger groups, but also where the tv and office area are located. The common space includes the living/dining/kitchen areas. The WC is separate from the bathroom area. An added bonus is the private garden/patio space. It is accessed exclusively through the apartment's dining room. Table, umbrella, chairs and a grill are available. Lavender, roses and other plants add to the relaxation and charm.
The entire apartment and garden area are available to house guests.
Guests will be personally greeted by my English speaking concierge service. A quick tour will be given and questions will be answered. Two sets of keys will be provided. I am a phone call and/or email away as I reside in the U.S. In the event of a problem that requires immediate attention my manager is available to assist. We are there if needed; but not if not!
All guests at our apartment are provided with freshly laundered hotel provided bed linens and towels. You can feel confident that you will have a comfortable night's sleep. The shower is new and has good heat and pressure. You may be out for the day but when you get home at night these details make your trip an overall nicer experience. There is a private parking lot for guests that arrive with a vehicle.
This apartment works well for all ages. It has five steps from the apartment entrance door up to my apartment, which is considered an elevated ground floor.
My husband and I work together and travel together. In the early 2000s we lived in Annecy for three wonderful years with our two sons. We returned to our primary residence in Iowa in 2006. We have two side-by-side rental apartments in downtown Sarasota; also on airbnb. I like walking outside on a beautiful day. I'm also in a book club and we recently read Dead Wake by Erik Larson. I like wine, still haven't acquired a taste for beer; but my husband enjoys both.
We try to abide by the golden rule of treating others as we would like to be treated. We do our best to be accurate in our descriptions and keep our rentals in great condition for our guests.
