Located in a quiet cul-de-sac in North Orem, this new apartment features off-street parking and is minutes off I-15. It features a full kitchen, a queen size bed in it’s own room, a full-size sofa sleeper in the living area, and a full bath.
This is a basement apartment with a separate entrance from the side of the house (you'll open the gate to get to it). There are large windows so there is a lot of natural light. There is full-size kitchen with dishes and cookware available for your use.
Guest will have full access to the apartment through a separate, key pad entrance.
We are happy to help our guests out as needed! We will try to always make ourselves available. Since we live on the premises, we are around to help and interact as much or as little as guests would like.
We have been told that the refrigerator makes random noises. We haven't witnessed it yet, but be prepared if it makes knocking noises in the middle of the night, it's okay!
Thanks for coming to stay with us. When we did the addition on our house, we added this apartment as a space we could share with family when they came to visit. We are happy to share it with you, but we'd like to keep it as nice as possible. While here, we'd ask you to follow the rules below:
•The main house is off limits unless invited in. That being said, you are welcome to knock (call or text) if you need anything at all, and we are happy to see what we can do to help.
•No pets (While we love animals, we have some family with allergy problems and need to keep the apartment as allergen-free as possible).
•No smoking (either inside or on property outside).
•No open flames—we don't want an inadvertent house fire to ruin your stay! (There is a fire extinguisher under the kitchen sink).
•No food allowed in bedroom. If the couch is used as a bed, no eating while the bedding is on it.
•We don't drink alcohol in our home. You are welcome to as our guest, but please do so responsibly. We'd prefer no beverages that would stain if spilled.
•Visitors welcome with approval. However, no gatherings or parties allowed without prior approval.
•Quiet time is between 11:00 PM and 7:00 AM. (We live in a family friendly neighborhood and need to be respectful of our neighbors).
•Do not dispose of anything besides toilet paper in toilet. Please use the bathroom garbage to dispose of feminine hygiene products.
•If you forgot any toiletries (toothpaste, floss, lotion etc.) or over-the-counter medication, let us know. We may have something you can use. (There is a first aid kit in the bathroom, if needed).
•Kitchen is available for use. If you're cooking and need a little bit of something that comes in a big container (e.g. baking soda, vegetable oil, etc.), let us know. We may have something you can use.
•Please clean up after yourself (wash dishes, wipe down counters, etc.). Dish washing detergent is located under the sink. Dishwasher detergent is located there as well. We also have brooms, rags and other cleaners available if you need it.
•Please take garbage out to green container with green lid located on the side of the house. Anything that is recyclable can be placed in blue bin.
•On checkout, please put linens in the laundry basket located in bedroom closet.
As it is a basement apartment in our house, you may occasionally hear us upstairs. But don't worry, we try our best to stay quiet. The sound, if you hear us, is muffled and minimal at most.
HAVE FUN, AND LET US KNOW HOW WE CAN MAKE YOUR STAY ENJOYABLE!
I am a Linguistics Professor and I travel quite frequently attending conferences and giving presentations.
As we were deciding if we should rent our basement apartment or set it up for AirBNB, I asked myself for the things I would like when I am away from my family for a week. We have tried to set it up with that in mind.
