Cute, victorian home in family neighborhood, with gorgeous views of Mt. Sopris and striking distance to Aspen, Colorado just 30 miles away. Great in summer for mtn. biking, hiking, etc. Great in winter for skiing. Nice family, one adorable dog.
Our space is unique because it is one block away from the beautiful Crystal River, just a walk or bike ride away from wonderful downtown Carbondale, and with a breathtaking view of Mt. Sopris.
Gourmet Kitchen for your use, full bathroom with a HUGE bathtub, front porch swing, back yard swing, TV and music with our assistance turning it on and off (sophisticated system). Cute townie bicycle you can use if you are so inclined!
We enjoy interacting with our guests. We've really liked ALL of them so far. Spices up our routine! If we're around we'll usually feed you a time or two, offer you a glass of wine, etc. Everyone we meet has an interesting story to tell and we have much to share in the way of 'what to do' while you're here.
There are some fun walks/hikes very near our home. You can wander down by the river, see the old jalopy with a crab-apple tree growing out of it, visit the famed 'Mushroom Rock' of Carbondale. Old town is just a few blocks away and easily accessible on foot. Lots of fun restaurants, galleries, and shops.
We would hope that our guests would clean up after themselves, especially in the kitchen, as I would expect my own family to do. We would rather they stay out of our master bedroom area unless we invite them in. The garage is a woodshop and it's best that our guests refrain from going into it. No reason to, really. Otherwise the remainder of the house is open for use. We don't mind if you relax in our living room, etc. You don't need to hide in your bedroom while you're here. We're happy to see you!
Outdoorsy. Athletic. Love biking, hiking, skiing, kayaking. My family is very casual at home, 'easy breezy'. We've hosted foreign exchange students and college interns and loved it. We like river trips as vacations. We have hiked around Mt. Blanc in Europe. Motto: "If you're lucky enough to live in the mountains, you're lucky enough."
