This studio is in an apartment building that requires a lot of maintenance. Everyday during our stay there was maintenance - shutdown of water from midnight to 6am (which was inconvenient for myself and boyfriend as we are night owls) and a window replacement in the studio at 8am (again, inconvenient because we are night owls and like to sleep in). Also, the elevators were super slow.
The host could have been more communicative. In fact, it felt like he withheld information from me about the window replacement in the studio. At around 8am on one of the days of our stay, we woke up to angry knocks on our door. By the time I got to the door, no one was there. I go back to sleep, and after 30 minutes I get a message from our host asking me what time we plan on leaving for the day because there would be a window inspection that'll last only 5 minutes. I asked host if this inspection could be postponed until after our stay. Host says that the inspection occurs every Fall season and that it cannot be postponed, and asked if we have any concerns. (Ummm yes, we'd like to make sure our belongings are safe.)
At the same time, we get a knock on the door again from the window replacer. He said that the window needs to be replaced, it'll take 45 minutes, and that this whole window replacement situation had been going on for two weeks. The replacer ended up not replacing the window (while my boyfriend and I were present) and said he'd come back in a week since there was an air conditioning unit attached next to the window and that the host needed to take it down. I relayed the message to the host and asked if he'd give us a heads up if the replacer needs to return to the studio that day.
My boyfriend and I then leave to roam the city for the day, and we returned to a studio with a new window and the air conditioning unit on the floor. Clearly our request to be informed was either ignored, or host doesn't read messages. I'm banking on the former.
The check-in was easy. The place looked neat, but in actuality, it was dirty. Dust on the floor, stains on the pillows, curtains, mugs.
I don't recommend this place, but If you still want to stay here, bring an eye mask and ear plugs as the curtains are not light-blocking and it's noisy.
