Guest room in a tranquil, modern, and well-furnished apartment, in a beautiful and historic Brooklyn neighborhood, just steps to trains which will take only 25 minutes to carry you into Manhattan. The subway is only one block away! Apartment has terrific kitchen, central air-conditioning / heating, TV, books, and more.
A lovely, modern, but tastefully renovated and decorated apartment just one block from the subway, which will zoom you into Manhattan (everywhere from the West Village to Chelsea to Times Square to the Upper West Side) in just about 20 minutes.
We're kind people in our twenties who keep a very clean, peaceful home, and we welcome you to use and enjoy it however you wish during your stay. The kitchen in particular is a dream, particularly for NYC (where most kitchens are simply a stove and two cabinets jammed into a living room corner), complete with brand new stainless steel appliances, full-sized eat-in bar, microwave, toaster over, and always *always* fresh local coffee, of which you're welcome to avail yourself every morning!
Guests have access to most of the apartment, including their bedroom, bathroom, and all common space and kitchen.
We're both quiet, friendly people with jobs in the city, and mostly around only in the evenings and on weekends. You'll be allowed to use the apartment as you please with as much or as little interaction as you prefer. We're not big partiers, but we're nothing if not respectful, and we want you to feel like the apartment is your own while you're here!
Bedroom is cozy with good closet space and shelves for any clothes and supplies you might bring. One thing of note: while not terribly noisy by any means, being in New York the room is not always pin-drop *silent*. While normal traffic from the street below is not typically audible, the occasional siren might be heard. Just the cost of living in the city! A heads up to anyone who is acutely sensitive to noise!
Simply don't smoke indoors (out the window is fine) and clear any extra guests / visitors beforehand. We're very easy-going!
I work for a major book publisher and have lived in the city since 2012. In my spare time I try to read, write, and run as much as possible. While I studied literature (at Oberlin), travel's my family's industry, and I'm fortunate enough to have traveled all over the world with my parents (travel journalists) and siblings.
