Sit and relax with in your own private hot tub while soaking up the mountain air and listen to the owls call to you out in the cove!
I am available for any and all guest needs, but I think you will find all you need ready for you when you get here. I live in the upper unit of the duplex with my 3 children, and we are always here for any questions or curiosities about the area. I am a mountain native, and a jack of all trades, so I know quite a bit about what there is to explore in these awesome mountains. We always keep to ourselves unless you have kids that want to play, but you may see me from time to time working in the garden or playing with the flowers and perennials. We also now have a young dog, and she is eager to have playmates if you bring your dogs. No cats please.
Dogs are welcome always as long as they don't use the bathroom in the home, you can understand that I am sure. However, NO CATS please. We do not allow cats at all here simply because there is such a high instance of allergies with other guests as well as potential damage and smell to the home. We do love all animals, but want to maintain a very clean and tidy home for you! The yard is very safe for dogs and there are no paved roads at the home so while it is not fenced in, it is private and safe. I always keep the thermostat set to a comfy temperature year round, but please just ask if you have needs with the climate in the home as there is not a thermostat control in this apartment.
No smoking inside the home is essential. There is a private patio right outside your front door that you are welcome to have a smoke if necessary. We do not smoke, but I try not to discriminate unless it's inside, that's a no no. And we try to respect the same rules that would apply to a city neighborhood situation that says that after 10 pm the noise level should not be too outrageous, but you can still enjoy yourselves outside by the fire or whatever as long as you can do so at an appropriate volume. Much thanks for understanding the simple rules here merely based on respect for others in general. And please let me know if your animal(s) are not friendly with kids or people at all. I ask that younger pets or not well behaved pets stay in a crate while you are gone from the home any and all times you have to leave your pet alone.
I am a mountain native, and have been lucky enough to settle down with my family in the Swannanoa Valley of western NC. Having a rental and sharing our beautiful property has always been a dream of mine, and we love having guests come and see our special little corner of the world. Originally from east Tennessee, I moved to the Asheville area years ago to be closer to all the wonderful things this valley has to offer. I own many businesses, and have done many things over the years. I am a jeweler, making wearable art out of antiques. I am a cleaner of houses and other things and own a local green cleaning business. I am also a mom of 3 kids and love having them grow up in the country and learn to provide food and entertainment for themselves. I also love to take them into Asheville and show them all the different things the city has to offer. We garden a lot and are always working on all kinds of projects around the house and yard. Recently our family garden has grown 3 more human beans. Now we are a family of 7. Rob and I have decided to become the Brady Bunch. Every now and then there are a total of 5 kids running around the property. We spend a lot of our time acting like tourists and are always out and about finding new waterfalls or fun spots to go adventure. Please ask us about our favorite spots so we can help you find the good stuff. We love meeting guests and always want you to feel at home at Owl Cove. Please come eat out of the garden, rest, listen to the owls and get to know southern Appalachia!
