We live on site, and are always available to assist our guests with any activities they may want to pursue, and answer any questions about Ucluelet and the surrounding area. We have a fairly comprehensive library of local interest books and resource material available. We also offer, on request, interpretive walks along the Lighthouse Loop of the Wild Pacific Trail. We usually head out at 10 AM, and the walk may take up to 2 hours.
Check-in is between 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM. Later check-in by special request. We feel that one cannot fully appreciate all that the area has to offer in one day, so we have a 2-night minimum policy, but 3 nights would give you more time for exploring and activities such as wildlife viewing/whale watching or surfing. We love children and pets, but unfortunately we cannot accommodate them. We require that the all the utensils, pots and pans etc. that you use during your stay be cleaned and returned to their original location. A cleaning fee of $25 may apply if this is not done. There is no smoking in any of our rooms, and in consideration of other guests and our neighbours, we ask that guests observe a quiet time between 10:00 PM and 8:00 AM. We reserve the right to amend these policies at any time.
We are a retired couple who moved to Ucluelet in July 2012. We love the friendliness of the town, and the wilderness that surrounds it. We volunteer at many community events such as the Pacific Rim Whale Festival and Ukee Days. Ed is a Director of the The Wild Pacific Trail Society. Gardening is a favourite pastime, both indoors and out. Ed is an orchid hobbyist and amateur photographer, and Julie is an exceptional cook and loves kayaking.
We like to share the natural beauty that surrounds us with our guests, and really enjoy meeting people from all over the world and from all walks of life.
