This 4 story waterfront house sits in the middle of the Long Walk, one of the most famous pictures in Ireland. All windows look out onto the River Corrib, Galway Bay and across to the hills of the Burren. Right beside the Spanish Arch, 1 minute walk to Quay Street.
The house has an eclectic nautical feel. Simple and fresh. Sunny and spacious. Adorned with plants, quirky bits, essentials, collections and wildlife view. Bedroom is a double bed ensuite with shower, closet, dresser, black out shades & tea station.
Make yourself at home on the ground floor, which is our kitchen and hang out area. The third floor is your bedroom with an en suite bathroom. The second floor is a living room area that you may use upon request. Top floor is private.
We'd love to help you navigate the place... happy to point you in the direction of food, places for music, grocery store, bus routes, must-sees, where all the cool kids are, and where the dirtiest chipper is in town... As well as travels around Ireland.
We're both gone and working a lot. There's a good chance we might bump into you at some point, but for the most part we just stay out of your way and let you enjoy Galway.
You MUST arrange a check-in time with us before 12 noon on your check-in day. We can meet you anytime after 4pm. Message us on Airbnb before 12 noon on your check-in day to confirm our meeting time. We host and travel on Airbnb because we find it gives an authentic taste to any holiday away from home. This is our home, this is how we live. We have time for our guests and are happy to share our home with travellers that aren't expecting it to look like a 5 star hotel (yawn). So although we have incredible standards of cleanliness and professionalism, we're most happy to accept people who are down to earth and in flow of real living :) There will be quirks as well as perfections.
We leave out some breakfast food for you in the morning which usually includes fruit, Irish soda bread, local jam and other spreads, tea, coffee & muesli or granola. Juice, milk and yogurt is kept in the fridge. Please note these things may vary so if there is anything you'd definitely like to have on deck for your morning, please say so ahead of time and we'll do our best to manage it for you.
Check-in time is no earlier than 4pm to allow us time to thoroughly clean the room between guests. You can drop bags off beforehand if needed. Let us know the day before and it can be arranged.
Check out is 11am.

It's myself, Tom, and my wife Lindsay and we look forward to meeting more people throughout the world from Airbnb.
I work in schools around Galway, teaching bicycle safety to young children. Lindsay teaches yoga and works at one of the awarded restaurants here in Galway. You'd find it in Fodors travel guide. I'm from Tipperary, Ireland and Linds is from Michigan, US. We've spent many years travelling and for once, we're sticking around home base while helping others enjoy their experience in Galway.
We both really love Galway wholeheartedly - Lindsay swears it's the best place in Ireland. After living here for about 6 years, we've got a good grasp of the place, the people, the hot spots, the shortcuts, some ins and outs. We're really into music and love to go out for a good show or the more casual pint over some trad music. We're foodies at heart and would have a scroll of a list for suggestions on where to eat...
Our interests include surfing, yoga, longboarding, swimming, being outside, going to the beaches in Salthill, collecting sea treasures, attending community events/festivals, cooking, travel, long-distance hiking, camping, hitch-hiking, jumping off our doorstep into the Corrib River, enjoying wine, decorating the house, doing artsy domestic projects and enjoying the sun while studying the animal life outside our doorstep.
