In short, we enjoyed our stay at this place, but weren't able to get the most out of it because there was a storm a few days prior to our arrival that took out some of the electrical installations. Unfortunately, infinity pool lighting included. But, we could imagine that had it not been for the storm - we would have enjoyed it even more, as described.
The welcome was warm, informative and practical - performed by Laurent, who helps with greeting the guests, getting them to the house and acting as the main local contact in case you need anything. The house is spacious and compared to most other accommodation on the island provides a good base (bathrooms, kitchen, etc.)
You should rent a car or a scooter to get to the house (seems that 99% of island visitors do anyway). Otherwise, it's a 10 minute walk (some steep ups and downs on the way) from the nearest place where you can get a bit, and another 5-10 minutes to the Haad Salad beach where you can rest, eat, drink, snorkel, enjoy the view and, of course, get a massage. Beyond walking distance, but still very close in the same corner of the island you can find quite a few things to experience. I'll let you discover them yourselves.
Things to keep in mind:
- no direct view to the bay (and the sunset) directly from the house
- you're still on a Thai island, so if something needs fixing, and it's not highly unlikely it will (not by the host's fault) - it will take a little time
- there are a few very similar houses in the same area, this one is at the end of the neighborhood or complex, rather
- enjoy your time to the fullest!
