Location Information
Seal Cottage is situated along a lovely, peaceful footpath leading to the Sele Field and Park. There is no vehicular access right up to the cottage and nowhere to park actually at the property. However, in order to load and unload luggage it is possible to drive through the park to within a few yards of the cottage (there are 4 steps with a handrail leading from the park onto the footpath by the cottage) and the car should then be moved.
Once you have unloaded and gone back through the gate and car park there is plenty of roadside parking in the vicinity and the nearest free, on-street parking is opposite the town police station (NE46 3DG) or on Hextol Terrace (NE46 2AD) just a two minutes walk from Seal Cottage. Hextol Terrace always has spaces and you can access the cottage easily form the opposite end of the footpath to the Sele Park.
Unloading Information
Drive through the ornate gates at Aligned Chiropractics, NE46 2EQ. From the this car park you will notice the black barrier will be across the park entrance. You need to use the code 1215 to open the padlock (squeeze to open) on the left of the gate. You can then push open the barrier. Once you are through you then need to lock it behind you (scramble he numbers then squeeze together again) then continue to unload. Whilst unloading a permit, number HP10/11, that is kept in the kitchen should be displayed to show members of the public using the park that you have access as a resident.
Once you are through the barrier follow wide footpath all the way round to the left, continue to drive along this footpath, watching out for any loose dogs! Walled gardens will be on your left and The Sele field on you right, continue along until you reach the end and see a waste bin and a bare patch of grass to the right. Whilst unloading a permit, number HP10/11, that is kept in the kitchen should be displayed to show members of the public using the park that you have access as a resident.
