On our behalf, having achieved and maintained Super Host status for a number of years, it saddens me that this young couple would resort to petty vindictiveness in their quest to get the ‘mostest for the leastest.” Our feedback was left several days prior to theirs after discussing the situation with AirBNB and I have posted those comments below for your review.
We will continue to do our best within the parameters of our listing profile and look forward to welcoming many guests from both domestic and international locations. Aloha and Komo Mai from Anthurium Hale, Hilo, Hawaii.
Anthurium Hale’s Review of Riley and Laura – We did Recommend them As Guests.
Upon making the reservation, Riley represented himself as an AirBNB Host and requested a Special Deal. I did reciprocate with a discount and did not cut any corners on my breakfast service or extra room appointments. During their stay however, Riley and Laura were quite adamant, threatening to leave if they were not allowed access to the kitchen when in fact my AirBNB listing is quite specific as to kitchen privileges Not being included as a part of the Garden Room package. These privileges have not been included for the Garden Room for many years. I did allow their usage, but I do not appreciate guests dictating their entitlements and making me feel uncomfortable in my own home. Further, the shared hallway bathroom rather became their personal area. Even though there was no guest in the other AirBNB room, shared areas should be maintained in a neat, tidy manner. I would have been rather embarrassed had I had another guest check-in on short notice or had I had company that wished to use the bathroom.
Anthurium Hale’s Private note to Riley and Laura:
Uncomfortable situations can be avoided if you educate yourself as to what amenities are available or privileges are allowed. Thank you for tidying up, I appreciate that and wish you well in your future travels.
