Our covered deck is just a leap from the creek. With comfortable deck furniture, it’s a delightful place to eat a meal, relax with a book, enjoy interesting conversation or step right into the hot tub, soak and star gaze the Montana BIG SKY.
What’s not to love about enjoying something off the grill and on the creek right on our back deck? We have a Weber grill available for your use. Trust me on this, our deck by the creek is a delightful spot for an evening meal with amazing ambiance. You are welcome to fix your own food in our rustic, handcrafted kitchen (custom cabinetry, hand forged hardware and concrete counters made to look like they were carved out of Trapper Peak. Enjoy the view of the mountains out a large kitchen window. In our photos, you will see one of a lovely doe and two fawns in our yard. I took that photo from my kitchen window.
Winter lodging: Speaking of ambiance, our"state of the art" Napoleon wood stove defines our comfort zone! Cozy up to it and watch those beautiful flames dance through the glass while sipping coffee in the morning or hot chocolate after an amazing day on the slopes! You will hear it crackling in the morning as you awaken to the smell of fresh coffee brewing below as your hosts will do that for you. Did I mention we spoil our guests in the morning? We will send you off to ski while we do the breakfast dishes as well as other spoilers not even mentioned here!
Winters are a fabulous time to enjoy the over-sized hot tub next to the creek which you will hear flowing under the ice. Sit under the big sky, count the stars and let it work the kinks out of your body.

We love people and making new friends. We would be delighted to get to know you. We would also honor your need for rest and solitude. The room has a flat screen TV/DVD player, DISH 120 - (Aug - April 7)

Our retreat is also a small farm, you can enjoy watching our herd of goats frolic in the yard, field, and hills. You might want to cuddle a kid or try your hand at milking or enjoying fresh eggs for breakfast from our hens. Please note: while our reviews would have you think you are booking at a monastery, there IS activity going on here during the day this summer. We are having a bridge built across the creek and a barn constructed on the other side. We have recently purchased a small sawmill and lumber is being milled on site from the trees around our property. We are also doing extensive landscaping on our new property and beside the creek. Our retreat is a work in progress.

We are really laid back and want our guests to relax and put their feet up on the coffee table. Please just mind your manners and enjoy great hospitality! We do not allow smoking in our home or on our decks; if smoking, us an ash receptacle even in the yard. Thanks! We appreciate alcohol consumption being kept to a moderate amount and of course, no drugs. DUH! Things, like wiping shoes before going upstairs on the plush carpet and not laying on top of the vintage linen comforter, are courteous gestures, to be sure. Your children are most welcome. Please insist they behave by not abusing furniture, etc. Sheesh! Hate to even have to say it.

PET POLICY: Pets are NOT allowed upstairs (in rooms). As animal lovers, we understand the needs of travelers and vacationers with pet companions. Every effort will be made to facilitate an enjoyable experience for you AND your pet. Please observe these guidelines: Dogs are allowed in the house on the main level (wood floors) but NOT upstairs on the carpet and your room. If your pooch can sleep in a kennel at the bottom of the stairs, he is welcome. We can supply a kennel if you don´t travel with one. If your dog gets anxious at night you can sleep by them on the couch rather than allow them to keep others awake. A vet will tell you giving him a Benedryl will calm your dog and not hurt him so that could be an option for a restful night for all. If you like, we can even walk him/her in the morning and let you sleep in.
We can even allow them to run loose and play in the creek while you are in attendance. Dogs are not to be left to run loose when you are not watching as we have farm animals and an abundance of deer in the area.
You must accept full responsibility for any damage that done by your pet and/or incurred by your pet. Please inform us, when booking that you are bringing a pet. You can consider your pet an additional guest and indicate as such on the reservation or you can pay when you arrive as included with the taxes at 15.00/night. Be sure and inform us when booking that you will be bringing your dog and let us know what needs you have. We will even give him some treats!

The stay was absolutely amazing, loved the hospitality and Phil and Linda are great to visit with. Would definitely recommend staying here. Like a home away from home!

Where to start?! I'll sum it up: Family. Staying with Linda and Phil is like staying with family - wait, not your own family, but the very ideal family you've always wanted. They're warm, open, easy-going, and at the deepest part of their being, they're just down right hospitable. The location is just as described. The bed really is as comfortable as everyone says; and it really is amazing to drift off to sleep hearing the babbling of the brook outside your window. Most importantly, these two kind people will welcome you into their home with such openness and generosity. I felt so comfortable, I extended my trip from three to five days. I baked cookies in Linda's kitchen. I (ummm, sorta) helped herd the goats - something I think would still work in my LinkedIn profile if I write it just right . . . If you're thinking of staying anywhere NEAR the Bitterroot Valley, choose this house. The hot tub, the camaraderie, the food, and the proximity to so many beautiful places will make it all worth your while. Really. Just book it. You'll be writing your own review like this one soon enough.

We loved staying here! Linda and Phil are so sweet and make you feel at home. The bedroom is amazing and the bed frame is insanely cool! They offered us the hot tub but after a day of driving we fell asleep before we could get down there. The sound of the creek was so relaxing to fall asleep to. Linda made us breakfast burritos and coffee in the morning and we stayed longer than we had planned chatting with them in their kitchen. One of our favorite spots so far it's obvious why Linda is a super host, she knows what she's doin! Stay here if you are in the area you won't regret it :)

Linda and Phil's place is fabulous. The guest room is upstairs with its own bath. So the guest area is very private. We had wonderful conversation with our hosts but they made it clear we could keep to ourselves if we wanted. We just enjoyed their company so much, we chose to hang out with them. For breakfast we had fresh eggs (right out of the chicken coop), fresh goat's milk (from their goats), herbs from their garden, and homemade bread. The hot tub overlooking the babbling creek is amazing! The accommodations are luxurious and totally clean.

Absolutely lovely stay with Linda and Phil. Quiet remote location, beautiful with the sound of the water while we slept. Linda also gave us her homemade bread - delicious!

Fabulous find! Stunning room! Gracious and welcoming hosts. Loved the creek, goats, dogs and chickens! Yummy breakfast burritos this morning and the lovely Linda even fed us pizza last night. We sure picked a wonderful home to stay in. The road to Linda and Phil's place is about a quarter mile, hard packed with a little gravel. An easy ride for motorcyclists interested in a great place to stay. Will definitely choose to stay there again when we go that way next time! Thanks again, Linda and Phil!

Wonderful place and host. Would definitely stay again. Good food and company. My only regret is that we couldn't stay longer.

I am retired from public service work. I love my home and creating a warm and welcoming environment. This includes baking and sharing homemade bread and pastries and serving up creative breakfasts. I am a sports enthusiast. I enjoy cross-country skiing and ATVing.

Phil, my husband, is also retired from public service work, he is a world traveler. He enjoys fly fishing, gardening, grilling and caring for his small herd of goats which, by the way, are most entertaining. A former two-sport college athlete, he loves to talk sports. Together we enjoy exploring the woodlands on our ATVs. We are both quite busy these days trying to establish some added landscaping, a bridge across the creek and a new barn.

We love people and making new friends. Our faith is central to who we are and we hope it shows through in how we extend a welcome to guests.
