Idyllic cottage half-timbered with a thatch roof, kids friendly and very functional! Surrounded by fields, close to the Fjord of Sakskøbing. You can bathe at the old harbour nearby. Lovely garden to enjoy happy days... And only 1,5 hrs to Copenhagen!
Our house is quite old and at the same time in a good state and functional. It is in a very beautiful and quiet setting surrounded by fields and close to the Fjord of Sakskøbing. You can bathe at the old harbour of the nearby mansion. You are also allowed to go for walks in daytime on the estate (walking and biking - cars only for residents). Our house has housed two families of workers in the olden days. It is half timbered with a thatch roof.
The house consists of two separate bedrooms and a large open kitchen-livingroom area and a bathroom w shower. We have fridge, oven, washing machine and dishwasher. The kitchen is fully and well equipped. In one bedroom we have two double beds and a bed for a child (160 cm long) - so if you know each other well, you can sleep 5 in one room and 2 in the other. We even have a travel baby cot if you have a wee one. We usually sleep 4 in the one bedroom and have our guests in the other. You can also have friends with a tent in the garden - an option we have used with great success.
We have a beautiful garden full of flowers and trees. Here we enjoy the sun, lunch and dinners. And the sounds of birds, the silence and a magnificent heaven for stars at night. In summer the long light nights of the north. In spring and autumn the trek of the geese and swans. This is really a place to regain peace of soul and mind.
Going to Copenhagen
If you want to visit Copenhagen this is quite possible - many of our guests have done that and enjoyed it.
A good tip is to take your car to Nykøbing Falster and catch a direct train to Copenhagen from there. That way you don't have to worry about expensive parking in Copenhagen. In Nykøbing there is a big parking space closeby McDonalds, just 5 minutes walking from the train station.
You can use anything we leave in the house!
Please notice: You will have to bring sheets, kitchen towels and bathing towels. Feel free to use our spices, soap and what else you need. You are also responsible for cleaning the house yourself before departure so the next guests are happy.
Also please note that check in/out time is at noon (12.00) unless we make another arrangement.
As we live most of the time in Copenhagen, we won't be close during your stay - but always reachable by mail or telephone!
We are open for longer stays in autumn, winter and early spring. I imagine that our place would work well as a retreat for a writer, artist, musician or composer - or a scientist writing a thesis. We have a wifi that even covers part of the garden, if that is needed. Ask us!
As we have various means of heating (two wood stoves, a big electric heater and three small ones) you can use the house all year round. It is very cosy in winter - and the area is great for walks.
No smoking indoors and no pets as our son is allergic. Otherwise all are welcome - as we expect you to take care of our lovely country getaway.

Hello there. I am a curious, positive and honest individual. I live in Copenhagen with my family - my husband Anders and our children Silas (11) and Esther (5). In my work life I started as a contemporary dancer. After reschooling myself I have now worked in economics, accounting and leadership the past 10 years. Right now I am looking for my third way. I enjoy working and hopefully contributing to something worthwhile - but I also want time and clarity to be the best mother and wife I can be.
I am a fairly new host on airbnb - and I can't wait to welcome as many of you as possible in our lovely country getaway!
