Wharf is a cosy cottage which sleeps three in two bedrooms.
The sitting room enjoys an log stove, and overlooks the canal. While the kitchen view is of the lake!
Plenty of space to roam in our grounds, bird watch, bbq or let the world go past.
Set in stunning countryside of the Staffordshire Peak District, our small holding offers a diverse range of flora and fauna. With a small selection of farm animals always around too.
The house and enclosed back garden is your space. The yard and grounds are shared with other guests and ourselves, but there is plenty of room to spread out.
Off limits are the farm machinery and buildings for your safety.
We don't get in your way but if you would like advise on places to go or things to do we are here to offer suggestions.
We expect you to relax and enjoy yourselves in our peaceful space and allow other guests the same privilege.
I love the outdoors and enjoy living in the Churnet Valley. My husband and I (I always sound like the queen when I say that) live with our two grown up sons, two dogs and three cats. We have a small holding and keep a few dexter cattle and assorted sheep. Our ground is very special to us, we manage it under the Higher Level Environmental Stewardship scheme. Some of our field are classified as SSSI with wonderful diverse flowers including three different wild orchids species. It is also a paradise for bird watchers.
I enjoy crafts and meet with others in a wooly group where I spin, knit and weave, mostly with my own sheep's wool. I do like making in general, we went on a coracle course last year and now have two coracles that we use on our lake, we're mastering the paddling technique so we can go along the canal to the pub!
On the other hand I am also a biker and try to go away with my husband and one or two others exploring other areas of the UK and europe............and yes I do ride my own very pretty, 1000cc V-twin!
Life mottos - live life, forever young, do it now -if you like it you can do it again tomorrow!
We do run our cottages as a business hopefully in a relaxed style. We are usually on hand to offer advice and suggestions about the local area and share our favourite places. We do live "next door" but we're not curtain twitchers, so if you just want to relax and chill out thats fine.
