Smoke outdoors, and down wind.
Being in a National Park means we cannot accept pets.
The National Park also offers you the challenge of knowing where you are, and we can help you with that skill. Tell us where you are going and when you spect to return.

My husband and I stayed with Anna and Peter during wildflower season. What a wonderful treat! Anna and Peter took us out to areas not frequented by others. The flowers where stunning! There where even ancient fruiting Sandlewood trees. Such a treat! The trip was the highlight of our stay. Not only are there flowers but serenity and peace. Peter lit a wonderful fire for us after dinner on Saturday night: Good company, glass of wine and the night sky made for a perfect evening. The bedroom was spacious with a very comfortable bed. The bathroom was seperate. A communal kitchen is well appointed with cooking equipment and appliances. There is even a coffee machine for barista style coffee. I personally loved sitting in the guest lounge to do some reading and writing after a morning exploring and walking on nearby trails. On technology: there is wifi but no tv. Anna has extensive paper maps that can be used to see the trails. Will stay here again.

This place is in the heart of the biodiversity hotspot of the Goldfields Woodlands. For anyone who loves plants, birds and wild places, this is heaven. You get all the comforts of a warm bed, hot showers and fully equipped kitchen to cook yourself up a gourmet storm, but a few metres away there is billion-year-old granite rock, sand plain, woodland, bush that goes for miles in all directions. I was hypnotised by the flowers blooming on the sand plain in September. So many! It totally rebooted my stressed-out brain to get 'lost' in nature. If your vehicle doesn't mind a bit of dust, there are tracks, or you can just walk with (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) maps or a compass. Anna and Peter know the area like the back of their hand and can advise you on good spots to go. Or they will drive you out and let you walk back. They are spiritual people with a gift for practical hospitality. If you like engineering (railway lines, the Goldfields water pipeline, DIY anything) Peter is a legend with a great fund of information. Anna knows lots of local history and sciency things, and has a good library of plant books. It is a LONG way from the nearest shops, so do bring plenty of food to cook, and your snacks and your meds if any. Comfy clothes, good walking shoes. And it's incredibly good value for a remote stay with this level of facilities. Well worth the time and money to get there and stay there for a while.

I’ve given Koora five stars not because it is a five star hotel but because it’s a five star Australian cultural experience. Peter and Anna have built this retreat centre as a labour of love literally from the ground up. In the midst of the beautiful Boorabin National Park, Koora provides a different kind of place to rest and venture out into the subtlely beautiful landscape. Anna and Peter are warm and generous hosts who will either leave you alone or provide advice on walks or history of the area. Peter is a colourful character whose engineering background and vast capability with all things practical means that stuff around the venue all works effectively. He’ll be happy to talk with interested persons about the intricacies of working toilets and solar energy in a remote location! The rooms are basic but comfortable. You might need to put up with a bit of dust but it is the desert after all.

Gorgeous location, super comfortable place and fantastic host! The real Australian bush was right on the door step with all the home comforts of air conditioning, delicious food and proper bathrooms. Anna gave clear and helpful answers to all my questions before about travelling with little kids and the property. She and Peter were very kind and generous with their time and understanding of our requests. The property is beautiful and they can provide both a full guided tour to the bush or enough information to show ourselves around too. I would recommend staying at Koora.
