Penycoed Hall, dating from 1889, stands proudly in it's own grounds looking across Dolgellau to mountains beyond. Once owned by a princess, this fine privately owned home offers 4star B&B or self catering in rooms, suites, and a cottage. There are 3 bedrooms with 2 double beds, 6 single beds and a sofa bed, 3 bathrooms and a kitchen. The huge guest room, (with it's log fires in winter) is where breakfast is served and the gardens with seating areas and picnic tables are a delight.
We can rent everything as shown above, or if you are a couple or a smaller group/family then we're happy to rent whatever suits you best. That could be a room, a suite or the cottage. Make the enquiry and we'll sort it out! In this respect, ignore the availability calender as we may still have rooms for you.
Lots of space in both private and public areas. A guest/breakfast room with roaring log fires in the cooler months. Books, maps and guides to help you to get aquainted with the area.
Access to the gardens with seating areas and picnic tables. Spectacular mountain views and bird life.
Penycoed Hall has been our home for nearly 20 years and we are as passionate as ever about living here and in the surrounding countryside. We love to share this with our guests and are only too happy to help them enjoy the experience.

Pretty laid back really but please respect others who may be sleeping if you get in late at night. Please clean up after your pets. Keep an eye on children on stairs and landing or in the garden. Strictly no smoking indoors. Enjoy!!
We are a happily married couple (29 years!) and have lived in Wales for nearly 19years. We have 2 sons who were 6 & 9 years old when we moved here. They both live nearby and we see lots of them and enjoy family stuff together. We have 2 grandchildren born to Nigel's daughter from his first marriage. We love walking in the mountains and forests and on the beaches with our 2 dogs, Shandy & Misty. They are great fun and very important to us (a bit spoilt actually!) They are both Cavachons which are crosses between a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and a Bichon Frise. We also enjoy travel, good food and wine. We like to have country walks with a friendly pub at the end, lunch included. We both love our garden and the prolific bird-life we share it with. We have a small boat which we toodle around in during the summer months and enjoy the fresh fish we sometimes catch along the coast. We both enjoy our music and have a broad taste but probably country music and the sixties would come out top. We like to relax and read, especially on holiday and Madge loves to embroider. Finally, having run Penycoed Hall as a guest house/B&B for nearly 20 years, we still enjoy meeting people from all over the world and making them feel 'at home' We love to share our space and swapping stories about life's experiences and how we all manage to get by. We have a little sign near our front door which says ' enter as strangers, leave as friends' I think that would be as good a motto as we could hope for.
