Studio room in the back of the main rental house. Has 1 Queen bed and a comfy convertible sofa/queen size bed. Has a half-bath with shower. Room is only available when house is not booked with other guests. So you will have the property to yourself.
This studio space is part of the Joshua Tree Mountain Vista Desert Retreat house. This studio is a stand alone rental when the main house isn't rented (usually on weekdays) or an optional additional space for groups that want to have more accommodations when renting the main house.
I only book this space at most two months in advance. It is usually only available on weekdays because the main house is usually booked on weekends. There may be a free weekend available but I will only open the studio on weekends one week in advance. Preference goes to guests booking the house.
The 270 sq ft studio has a queen size bed and a queen size sofa bed with latex mattress. It will sleep four people comfortably. The bathroom has a shower, toilet and sink. A small kitchenette with a coffee maker and small refrigerator is also provided. There is a BBQ on the private patio with a picnic table for outdoor grilling and eating.
Linens, towels, and hi-speed wifi internet are included.
My calendar is always up to date though I ask you send an inquiry before booking.
If you need any flexibility with the time I may be able to allow earlier check-in or later check-out depending on bookings. Check my airbnb calendar and give me a call or text. If the days are unavailable before or after your reservation then I most likely will not be able to be flexible as I will have very limited time to prepare the house between guests. If you would like to extend your stay, please check my calendar for availability before contacting me.
I want your stay in Joshua Tree to be a memorable one. Please read my guest reviews on my Mountain Vista Desert Retreat listing to learn about peoples great experiences at my house.
Located in the heart of The Village of Joshua Tree just minutes away from the Joshua Tree National Park West Entrance. A quick 1/2 mile drive or walk and you're in the middle of Joshua Tree's small downtown of shops, eateries and galleries. The Park Visitor Center is half way between the studio and the downtown area.
Although this house is in the village area, its higher elevation and empty space on three sides give it that open desert feeling and great views. It's very peaceful and quiet. Quail, bunnies and the local roadrunner sometimes pass by on their daily rounds.
For a nearby adventure, just a short walk down the street is a not so well known place called Coyote Hole. There you'll find ancient Native American petroglyphs on the large boulders and a small canyon with a natural spring. Coyote, bobcat, and even a mountain lion have been reported to roam this area.
Off street parking, fire-pit hangout area.
The property is for rental only, I don't live there. I will meet you for check-in.
Room has high ceilings and feels very private tucked back behind the main house. You will have access to the BBQ and private patio area.
Please leave the studio in the same condition as when you arrived. Please leave sheets on bed and hang used towels on towel bar.
Absolutely no smoking indoors.
No photography, film or video for professional or student use is permitted on the premises without prior written consent from the owner.
For guest security and house protection there is a security video camera monitoring the driveway and parking area.

Desert enthusiast, photographer, creative person and Joshua Tree hugger. I am a local full-time resident and I love the Joshua Tree area. I personally rehabbed, restored, decorated and lived in the homes that I now offer to you for a true locals experience. I'm involved in most of the local community activism, working to preserve the JT rural community character. Staying at my places helps support my volunteer time spent on various projects in the community. A few of the things that I've been involved with are that I've served 4 years on the board of the JT Chamber of Commerce as president and have organized the local Vacation Rentals Association. During the years that I've lived in Joshua Tree I've been discovering and exploring the many hidden gems, fascinating locations and history of the area known only to locals. I'll gladly make recommendations about the many things to enjoy locally. If you're interested in the more off-the-beaten path adventure I can help you with that. Personalized tours may also be possible depending on my availability. Contact me if you have any questions.
