A detached studio (has no kitchen) behind a single family home in Berkeley located in the North Berkeley Hills, 15 min walking distance to North Berkeley's Gourmet Ghetto. While public transportation is nearby, you will be better off with a car. Easy street parking.
The private studio cottage has a separate private entry.
The cottage features a twin-sized mattress, a desk with an ergonomic office chair, a reading chair, a clothes rack with plenty of hangers to hang your clothes, a mini refrigerator, and ample shelf space. The small bathroom has plenty of towels, a hair dryer, and a stand up shower with soap, shampoo, and conditioner. There is a full length mirror on the bathroom door.
This space is bright and comfortable. You will literally be sleeping under the stars as the skylight above the bed does not have a curtain. There is internet connection via ethernet cable and wi fi.
Guests have access to the studio and the shared yard, which includes two lawn chairs and a table on the deck.
We understand some guests like privacy and some like more interaction. We leave it up to you on whether you would like to meet us, so please let us know if you would like to do so.
We are a family of four (mom, dad, and two school-aged boys) -and our rescued dog Trixie- living in the main house and sharing the yard with you. Our dog is very friendly and is not left alone in the backyard.
**Studio gets lots of natural light. If you need a dark place for a restful sleep, this place is not the perfect fit for you.
**On sunny afternoons it gets hot in the studio due to the direct sunlight coming in through the skylight. The heat is remedied quickly by opening both doors to let the breeze in and we also provide a fan for your comfort.
**Standard twin bed may be too small for tall people
**Shower feels too small
No smoking and no drugs. The studio is for one person only. If you have more in your party, please inquire before reserving. We thank our guests for being respectful about keeping the noise down between 9 pm and 8 am.
We kindly ask our guests to be mindful of their water and power consumption.
