With a main supermarket around the corner, and convenient to local colmados, yet just a 10 minute stroll the world class beaches, you'll enjoy this quiet garden setting. My wife and I live in the house above, and are available to make your stay a pleasant one.
This apartment was completed in April, 2015, so is brand new construction. It offers private space, as well as a semi private terrace for lounging and web surfing. From this central location, a vehicle is not necessary, as all services are nearby. Every part of the town can be reached on foot in twenty minutes. The beach is just a ten minute walk away.
The comfortable and secure sitting area in front of this apartment is great for lounging or al fresco dining. We also have a large terrace above for socializing. Come share stories with other travelers.
We have few house rules beyond common sense and courtesy. Occasionally we have some local guitarists over for a party on our large terrace above.
We live in the house above, in the home my wife has lived in for over 30 years. We are available to assist in any way we can.
I found Las Terrenas in 2014 after retiring. It is a hidden Shangri-La, with miles of world class beaches extending in each direction. The town has been a functioning village, only discovered for tourism in the '90's. I met my wife Manty here, who has lived here all of her life. We now live in an enclave with all 6 of her siblings next door.
After starting with three apartments below our home in 2015, we added a dorm for a hostel later that year. We have more than tripled our capacity since then, and doubled our dining and "hangout" terrace area. Manty's food service has become famous locally, and you can enjoy an al fresco dinner buffet every evening with visitors from all over the world.
We enjoy providing assistance to the adventurous travellers who find Las Terrenas and us. Manty speaks fluent Italian and some French, as well as her Spanish.
The most common concern we hear is the lack of information available regarding public transportation. There are five express busses daily from Santo Domingo to Las Terrenas that will drop you off one mile from us. These connect at Las Americas to Punta Cana. There are three daily busses from Santiago. There is one daily bus from Puerto Plata to here. We can help you see the incredible natural beauty of the Samana Peninsula economically.
We love showing off Las Terrenas to our guests. There are so many sights to see here and activities for any level of energy. Come see the incredible beauty of Samaná and Las Terrenas.
Our area is in the middle of real Dominican life, which means neighborhood kids are running around, there are some dogs on the grounds, and some roosters crow in the morning.
