Renovation began in October 1992 of this originally thatched traditional Breton Longeur divided into two family homes with the cow byre between.The Baker from Bazouges La Perouse delivers Bread on a Friday morning at 10am.
There is a supermarket, delicatessen and restaurants including a Creperie in Bazouges 3kms away.
The cottage has an off peak electrically heated water system that provides ample hot water for all the family.
Radiators in all rooms with wood burner in the lounge/kitchen area.
It is fully furnished with crockery, cutlery, teapot, toaster and full size oven and gas/electric hob. There is also a microwave oven.
There is a smart TV in the lounge.
Outside there is a barbecue available and a Terrain des Boules on the lawn.
Pets are welcome as there are enclosed gardens. The barbecue is available to guests but if we are using it they are welcome to join our group if they contribute something to the meal. We ask that guests use their own discretion when using the gardens around the house and especially when their are groups of children.
The markets are Thursday morning in Bazouges La Perouse, Saturday in Dol de Bretagne and Monday in Combourg.
The nearest shops are at Bazouges La Perouse 3km away, a village with interesting medieval architecture, a supermarket, Post Offfice, superb bakery/patisserie, pizzeria/creperie, restaurants and a lively street market on Thursdays.Tennis Courts are in Bazouges, Pony Trekking and Golf are also available locally.
For children, there is a lake in the Foret de Ville Cartier with pedal boats for hire, Acrobranches or GO-APE and picnic tables, cafe-bar on its shores.
The nearest swimming pools are at Tremblay and Combourg.
Le Mont St Michel, 30km due north, the spectacular Abbey is built literally just off the coast.
At Cancale, 45km there is a large sandy beach and a seaside town atmosphere. Plenty of restaurants selling Mussels and Oysters
At Fougeres, 30km, there is an imposing Medieval Castle, an old Quarter and pretty boutiques
At Dinan, 50km, the River Rance passes through this old port where there are a variety of craftshops, cobbled streets, old fortifications and a plethora of restaurants.
At Rennes, 40km, a cosmopolitan University City with Classical French squares, the Breton Parliament Building, excellent shopping, multicultural-restaurants and lively bars (including Irish!)
At St Malo, 50km, the nearest ferry port, Bastille Day there is a spectacular firework display over the Fort walls.
Beaches with walled swimming pool and lovely island views. As well as a Plethora of restaurants just inside the old walls.
