You enter the guesthouse's via a private courtyard (you can sit outside if the weather permits). The ground floor has a kitchen, bathroom & living area (can be converted in additional sleeping space). Upstairs you find a bedroom with a double bed.
This guesthouse is located in a former convent, which has been converted into small apartments in 2014. This apartment is 40m² (430ft²) and still has some of the original features, such as a wooden ceiling/floor. The apartments around this courtyard are used for activities of the convent owners (apart from the guesthouse, and the wing in which the owners live, there is a chapel which is used for exhibitions, there are training rooms and some office space and there is a private pub.
Basically you are renting a vacation apartment (as opposed to a B&B, there is no breakfast). It's similar to the "Aparthotel" concept, except it is not run as a business. During your stay, the guesthouse is fully yours: you get a key. Access to other parts of the convent may sometimes be available as well... (if you want a guided tour, just ask!)
The guesthouse is a fully functioning apartment, but we live next to the guesthouse, so we will probably be available when needed. That being said, both of us work full-time and have many other activities.
We are new to AirBnB, with a lot to learn...
Note that the extra sleeping accommodation downstairs consists of futons - so it's "Japanese style", or in terms of the comfort to expect: close to camping
The convent is a quiet place and we like to keep it that way: the guesthouse is not meant for partying. We don't allow smoking inside the guesthouse, but that's possible in the courtyard. No pets are allowed in the Guesthouse.
