Beautiful apartment. Susan is a lovely host and welcomed us warmly. My sisters family stayed there for 9 days. The view from the window was lovely. Mercy the house keeper was very helpful in keeping the flat clean and helped us in cooking. The only problem we had was getting the taxi men to take us there. It turns out it was mainly due to language problem. So we got the address translated to Chinese and suddenly they were very happy to take us there! Great place to stay. Will recommend it highly for anyone who wants to visit Hong kong.

Staying in Susan's apartment for 3 nights gave me a completely fresh view of Hong Kong. We were greeted on arrival by the lovely smiling face of Mercy, Susan's helper, and as we opened the door we were greeted by a beautiful rooftop style view of the Central city of Hong Kong, through the living room window (the picture you see on the listing is real). We even found a roof terrace where my children could relax and sunbathe. The apartment was perfect for our needs and more spacious than I expected for a HK property.Although we had planned to be 5 adults and a toddler, it happened we were just 3 but there was ample room for more. The beds were very comfortable with plenty of pillows and hanging space and there were 2 full bathrooms with shower, 1 being en-suite. There was a roomy living and dining area and a decent sized kitchen. The apartment is interestingly decorated with some original works, I think, by the owner and had light a light and airy feel. Lots of well-read books and artefacts around, even in the kitchen and yet not the slightest feeling of clutter. The apartment has the perfect balance of feeling lived-in, as opposed to the starkness of a 5 star hotel room, yet clean, tidy and well equipped. Our host, Susan, was unobtrusive and yet we felt that either she or Mercy would be there for our needs if we had any. We immediately felt at home. Susan had also kindly left some simple instructions about the apartment and how to use various appliances as well as little post-it notes on some things like a box of chocolates, saying 'eat me' or translating bathroom things such as 'shampoo', which was very helpful. I was tempted to write my own post-it notes on the bottles of wine, saying 'drink me', but managed to resist :) The apartment is located in what I would now consider to be my ideal location in Hong Kong - 5 or 10 minutes taxi ride away from most things you are likely to want but away from the claustrophobic hubbub of the city areas. Whilst you can call for a taxi to your door, taxis pass by quite frequently at the bottom of the rather steep access road that leads up to the apartment, just 2-3 walk downhill, and there are bus stops there too. One great attraction we stumbled across was just down a few steps from the apartment there is a lovely hillside wooded walkway that seemed to go on for miles, nicely shaded by the trees but with regular views of the city, as well as exercise spots and resting places. From there you can easily walk down the steep hill to Wan Chai area and MTR, although I wouldn't fancy walking back up again ! For me this was yet another prefect location from airbnb and I would certainly stay here again if Susan would welcome me back...

Really amazing apartment with stunning views of the city and the water. Really easy to find (all cabs know where it is and they are really cheap). Plus it is well located for public transport. We stayed with our two girls and there was lots of space.

This was the perfect place for us! We were spending our time looking for apartments when we move here in a month; so having a place that was quiet and welcoming every evening, wher we could cook and talk was exactly what we needed. Not a place to go if you need to be in/out all day long- you commit to going to Wan Chai -expect 15 min. Bowen Rd is GREAT- a safe, lit jogging track that goes and goes. It is right out the door- in my experience, hard to find in HK a better place to run, so close. We were well taken care of and could not ask for better response from Susan- thanks again!

Long term Hong Kong resident, I'm a physician who has a house full of health and mind body spirit books! I'm also an artist, so lots of sculptures and water colours around the house! Colour and beauty are important to me.
