Portland is the foodie capital of small cities. Charming Old Port, ferries to islands with gorgeous beaches. Great art galleries, music scene, easy day trips to the best in Maine--beaches, hikes, gardens, lakes, rivers. Freeport, home of L L Bean and discount stores in village setting is also nearby. Beach in town, park, river, quaint stores, wonderful restaurants, pub, bakery and coffee shops--all within walking distance.
I love my stuff so be respectful but I am not fussy. No smoking inside, illegal drugs, underage drinking, no loud noise/ music, parties. The house is child-friendly and lots of toys, nice private yard, fire pit, BBQ. I just refinished the beautiful pumpkin pine floors so be careful not to scratch. It is truly a gem.
I am now serving my third term as the Maine State Representative for Yarmouth and 2 neighboring islands. I also worked in the past for Congress and as a journalist. I love gardening, hanging with friends, reading, going to nature spots, good movies and plays, writing, and eating well. I have had terrific experiences with my guests, from all over the country and beyond. Here for weddings, family reunions, or just vacationing. All interesting people, and they loved staying here.
