Private room with windows facing south and east. View of large backyard and window box with flowers. Shares house with homeowner and any Airbnb guests that may be staying in front two-room suite. Friendly cat included in simple, comfortable home.
This is my son's room -- he is now in college. His vacation dates are blacked out on AirBnB calendar. This room is a little farther from the bathroom -- to get to bathroom you walk through kitchen and front hall (about fifteen steps). This room is not wheelchair accessible due a step-down from kitchen to pantry.
Simple kitchen with gas stove. No dishwasher. Help yourself to dishes, pots & pans, oils, vinegars, spices and other staples. If you use a large quantity, please replace. Shares main bathroom with me, and occasionally guests from two-room suite who have their own private bath/shower.
Cohousing backyard includes trampoline, tree house, swing, chickens, gardens, etc. No TV, no central heat or air conditioning, but home is well-insulated and comfortable.
I have a fairly busy work schedule, but enjoy meeting AirBnB guests. Happy to hook you up with local resources. My husband lives 10 blocks away, so we come and go between the two houses. Mixie-the-cat heads-up the welcome team.
I have a little "fleet" of loaner bikes, various shapes and sizes. Please let me know ahead of time if you will be needing one.
One friendly cat in home. If you are allergic, you will be uncomfortable.
No central heat or air conditioning, but home stays comfortable because it is well-insulated. Hot water bottles and space heaters are available, but rarely needed. During heat waves, we open windows at night, close in the day.
This is not a party house. No smoking anywhere on property (including medical marijuana). No illegal drug use. No extreme or routine alcohol use. Relatively quiet hours from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m.
We have no air conditioning, so, during the summer, guests must be willing to sleep with all windows and doors open (deadbolt locks are installed on security-screen-doors).
Please treat our home as if it was your own. Clean-up after yourself in kitchen and common areas. Replace staples if you use a lot. Let me or Stuart know if things are running low.

Only parent of a college student. I work as a wound/ostomy specialist nurse. My family moved to Davis when I was in high school in the 80's and I moved back here to raise my son. I am a Buddhist in the Shambhala lineage. Hobbies: windsurfing, poetry, singing, song-writing. The only hills in Davis are our overpasses, but there are lovely strolls in town and I can direct you to more vertically interesting hikes nearby. I am on the paleo diet, but do my best to not offend vegetarian/vegan guests/hosts.
