Rock Creek is located a short walk through the trees from your guest house. This river has some of the greatest fly fishing around with lots of rainbow and brown trout. Your home is above the work shop with the green roof. You have private, spacious deck with gas grill. You will have Abby, Lindy, Nero (the horses) and LeRoy (the mule) in the pasture and may feed them a treat with us if you like. Daisy our labrador may lick you to death so be ready. She loves to fetch her toys and you will see them all over the property. She gets along with all animals. Gypsy, our 20 year old cat, lives in the big house and mostly stays inside. You can walk around the property to Rock Creek and up the bluff to see a view of the Bearthooth Mountains.
FINDING GUEST HOUSE: Private driveway is marked by 213 on red picket fence with orange construction cone. Exactly 2 miles West of Boyd, MT off Cooney Dam Road. Driveway is gravel and you will drive over cattle guard, through big wood arches with moose antlers, past small cabin to your right, through some trees until you see big workshop with green roof (approximately 1/4 mile). Guest parking area is directly right of work shop noted by another red picket fence. The stairs and deck to your home are directly to the left of guest parking area. One door into the entrance and the door locks from inside and outside. I will leave the door open for you on your arrival date and key will be in gas grill.
FLY FISHING ACCESS TO ROCK CREEK: Short walk along the fence line to the left of cabin, walk over a small man bridge and keep walking mostly straight ahead until you see Rock Creek.
I am available for any questions and help getting you set up in your home away from home. I will provide information about the property and area and get you started on your Montana Journey. I also have a local guide book so please check it out. Dan and I live on the property in a separate house. There is a neighbor across the fence and we respect each others privacy. My horses and mule are usually here if not vacationing at the Beartooth Horse Ranch near Absarokee. We are ANIMAL FRIENDLY and accept pets with no extra charge. We ask our guests to clean up after their furry friends and I leave bags and a shovel to help out with this task. We have enjoyed all our guests, human and furry, and have had no problems.
There are stairs to get to your sunny deck and cabin. No elevator or lift. No dishwasher. Please use the shoe scrapper at the top of stairs to remove any dirt and cottonwood tree stickies from shoes before entering cabin. I also leave a sheet of instruction on how to operate TV, internet, lights, washer/dryer, etc.
No smoking inside of any building and only allowed on deck. I will leave instructions on how to run the TV, internet, lights, etc in the kitchen. Please wash all used dishes and cookware, remove used sheets and pillow cases and leave on bed, bag up any trash with garbage bags in kitchen and leave on deck. We are pet friendly and ask you clean up after your pets. There is a shovel and bottom of stairs and I will provide bags for clean up. Thank you and have fun.
Travel bug that has been over the world. Most recent trip to Africa and scheduled for South America next. Loves horses, photography, good food with fine wine, reading and people. Have been to amazing, beautiful places and overnighted at very interesting guest homes...including a convent in Florence, a monastery in Salzburg Austria, and a tent home in South Africa with a rhino in the front yard no doubt. Looking forward to meeting new people from all over the world and learning about new destinations to travel to.
