East London is the heart of London's trend setting nightlife, whether you are after the established hotspot of Shoreditch, the new king of cool Dalston, or the edgier Hackney Wick. There seems to be a new pop-up bar or eatery within a few minutes walk in local Clapton appearing every week.
15 minutes south of here are the delightful Plane trees of London Fields with it's outdoor heated Lido swimming pool.
Cycle or walk to the eclectic art spaces of Hackney Wick and the Olympic Park down the lovely green reaches of the River Lea, or along the delightful Regent's canal from Victoria Park west to Angel Islington.
Weekends can be all about local markets. There is the stylish Broadway Market area with a busy bohemian market on Saturdays, and great restaurants, bars, and boutiques.
Or the nearby Chatsworth Road Sunday market, lots of food stalls and vintage stands, and further south the famous Columbia Rd flower market, as well as Brick Lane and Spitalfields markets.
Nearest trains are Hackney Central Overground (zone 2) which is just 10 mins walk away due south, then 2 stops west to Highbury Islington (Victoria line tube). or 2 stops east to Stratford (Central, Jubillee, and DLR)
Or Hackney Downs overground is less than 10 minutes south west and 2 stops from Liverpool Street Overground main terminus (Central/Circle/Hammersmith & City tubes).
There are many bus routes into the City, the West End and beyond.

Hackney is a unique area of London. East London is now the creative hub of
There's a communal front yard that's lovely to have a drink in with the neighbours in summer. There's a roof deck in the yard you can have a glass of wine on if the sun's out.
I am available on email SMS and phone.
Check in time ideally around 5.00 pm/17.00 please, check-out ideally between 10-11.00 am. I can be flexible on these where possible, but if I have a quick turnaround I may need that time for the changeover. Let me know if you need different times and I'll do my best to accommodate you.
Unlike my other listing upstairs this studio serves as my home and base as least some of the time. As far as possible I attempt to present it as a neutral space for Airbnb guests, but I do have precious furniture and personal possessions stored here. All I ask is that the place be respected as you would your own home.
No smoking inside please, and sorry, no pets.
It's an open plan studio, which is why it's not ideal for kids.
As it's open plan it's not suitable for extra guests beyond a max of 2 people sharing the bed as listed.
Please note this is residential block with multiple flats. Please be respectful of my neighbours, I need to coexist with them after you are gone.
Please leave the place in the same condition as you find it and let me know if if there's a reason it can't be.
Just let me know if anything is an issue, so I can sort it out for you and the next guest.
Above all...enjoy your stay!

Film maker, musician, and traveller...
I live in Hackney in east London, and I delight in the area. Airbnb is an important part of my life now. I would encourage anybody to visit this side of London…it's the alternative side, like parts of Berlin, or Williamsburg in NYC, Christiania in Copenhagen. There's elements of all of those in Hackney.
I try and travel somewhere exotic once a year or so, usually with a film-making purpose attached. For instance I went Mauritius in August 2014 to make an art film.
