Anne's apartment was a dream come true. Plenty of space, an open concept layout that's been renovated, and well-appointed with plenty of love in the details. There are five floors to climb, but we got used to it, and it's nice to have a little more quiet up top. Anne greeted us on our arrival (even after a couple hours delay), and stocked the fridge for us! She couldn't have been more accommodating, and answered questions quickly during our stay. Having visited the city before, we knew we wanted to stay in Nørrebro, and her place is in the perfect spot, with lots of restaurants, groceries, bakeries and of course a Coffee Collective nearby. The perfect place for a perfect vacation.
We stayed in Copenhagen as a family of 2 adults and 1 child aged 13, for 5 days during our October half term, as part of celebrating my 50th birthday. It was a true ethical Airbnb experience, since Thomas and Anne shared their home with us while they were on holiday. We caught the metro from the airport to Frederiksberg and then 8A bus with single tickets totalling 90DKK. Anne's friend Signe meet us at the apartment entrance and we soon found the 4th floor apartment. The accommodation was truly cosy, with radiators in both the kitchen, dining room, lounge, bedroom, and underfloor heating in the bathroom. As well as a comfortable bed and easy to set up sofa bed. It was enchanting to have a birthday meal cooked by my daughter, drinking Helfrich Cremant d'Alsace brut provided by Anne, whilst admiring the view of the twinkle of candles in the designer apartments besides us. Anne provided necessities like milk, butter, tea and fruit juice. In addition SuperBrugsen in Nørrebrogade was a good quality, affordable supermarket to cover all our self catering needs. We enjoyed staying in this residential area. Every day we walked into the city, via Assistens Kirkegård. In addition to Hans Christian Anderson's grave, it is a beautiful setting, well used by locals pushing prams. We saw a red squirrel and the Halloween spirit of carved pumpkins placed on graves. A 40 minute walk into the city, where we enjoyed visiting Kongens Have, viewing the fairytale castle with moat - Rosenborg Castle,as the sunshine reflected on autumnal leaves. Daily we walked over Dronning Louises Bro, which over 12,000 cyclists do each day. It was enjoyable admiring the architecture strolling the shopping streets of Stroget. Anne's house reminded me of the lovely interior items in Ilums Bolighus. Shopping for all ages - Zara and H&M for my daughter, street machine for woolly hat for husband and a lovely angora sweater from J Lindeberg for me. Torvehallerne indoor market is nearby. One morning we had hot chocolate with whipped cream at Lauras bakery. Early evening we had golden fresh fish and chips at Fiskerikajen stall. Locally we ate lovely home made pasta at gusto italiano. We also walked to Papirøen, an island accessed by a bridge from Nyhavn, where we enjoyed the Copenhagen Street Food stalls. Such as Organic beer from Stormly and oriental lamb stew at the Spoon company. At the same time partaking in Yoko Ono's Wish tree garden. We purchased a combined museum and train ticket for 200DKK for adults and a tourist ticket for 65DKK for our daughter from the 7/11 stall at Vesterport station and had an excellent day visiting Louisana. The sculpture park overlooked the Øresund Sound in Humlebæk, with views of Sweden. The Daniel Richter exhibition was extensive and included lots of private collections. Thank you Anne and Thomas for sharing your home with us. It was definitely a wonderful Copenhagen and a lovely way to celebrate my 50th.
What a great time we had in Anne's apartment! Such a nice home, big rooms and all new. She welcomed us with helpful instructions about the flat and the neighbourhood. The building is in the middle of the coolest shops and restaurants in town, best location ever. We had an amazing experience. I definitely recommend this place.
Anne, your flat is simply beautiful – and so clean! We're sorry we didn't get to meet you, but you couldn't have been more helpful in the build up to our stay. Thank you for also providing all the maps and restaurant details, we really appreciated them. We'll definitely be coming back (if someone else hasn't snapped up your flat!) Sam & Kira
