Apartment-Gallery is a unique live/work space, designed and built by Jessop Design Co. *FYI, if you're interested in the Eames Suite but it's booked (which is often the case 45 days ahead), you may check out our other two spaces in the building at: the "Van Gogh Suite" or the "Basquiat Suite"!
We incorporate unconventional design elements, as well as an art gallery featuring some of Saint Louis' prominent artists.
The Eames Suite is a 2nd floor 1 bedroom apartment with kitchen/living area.
This shotgun style, fully rehabbed 2nd floor apartment has 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom with stand up shower, and a living/dining area and kitchen with a microwave, refrigerator, stove/oven, coffee maker/toaster/grill, espresso pot, teapot and basic cooking/dining tools and foods, and private Queen sized sleeping accommodations in the bedroom.
There is a Queen sized futon in the bedroom as well as a Queen bed, so the bedroom can sleep four, total. A desk is provided as well, for your laptop, or other sundries. This sunny, cozy and versatile space fits up to four people (two to a bed) total.
We provide Internet/WiFi and cable on the TV in the living/dining area. A small love seat and other seating is provided.
We've designed this space as a "smart home" of sorts. LED lights, 12 volt solar (to evolve more in time), motion lights for convenience and some Earth friendly, upcycled/recycled/sustainable building materials and lifestyle modifications.
All artworks adorning the walls have been created by me, as well as our local artist friends. Jamie designed the interior, and we decorated it together. The Eames Suite is our pride and joy and are incredibly happy to share it with you. We hope you enjoy your experience here.
The whole apartment and gated backyard is yours to utilize at your convenience so please do so, and MAKE YOURSELF AT HOME! We provide bagels and cream cheese, butter, fresh eggs to cook, juices and yogurt in the refrigerator, and there are various instant breakfast type foods, coffee, espresso and a machine, teas and drinks available in the Lazy Susan cabinet for your convenience. All simple foodstuffs are available to cook and eat as you prefer. There is a grocery store called Supermercado El Torito at the opposite end of the block, on California and Cherokee for all the rest of your basic grocery needs. Shop local whenever possible!!
Be sure and let us know when you are low on something and we will make sure you get restocked. Just text us!
This is a DIY type lodging. We provide basic amenities, and simple foodstuffs if you choose to prepare it. Jamie and I do not live at Apartment Gallery, but we are usually in our studio next door (Starlight Lab). You have the apartment to yourselves. While we are nearby, our role is for ensuring your comfort and convenience in the background while you enjoy stay in The Eames Suite and in St. Louis. We'd love to meet you and/or chat, but we understand you have a travel and adventure schedule. Just text us for anything and we're almost always nearby. Feel free to knock on our door at Starlight Lab if you want to say hi, too!
This is a 4 family apartment building in which the Eames Suite is one of three units: the others being The Van Gogh Suite, and The Basquiat Suite (see our other listings for details). The fourth apartment is our art studio, so we are usually around. Please be respectful and pick up and dispose of your own pets' waste, and be mindful if your pet does not get along with others.
We will text you a code to get into the apartment when you get close to checking in, so keys cannot get lost or misplaced. You may come and go as you please. Just make sure to lock the door. We'd be happy to show you how to use the keyless entry if you need assistance. Just text us!
Be aware that, this is true city living. NEVER leave valuables in your car, or visible. Be street savvy. This is no different than most metropolitan cities and burgs, so keep your eyes open and make sure your belongings are always safe and secured. We have a 24 hour remote security system on site, so there is some reasonable monitoring for your safety. Don't hesitate to call us at any time if you need anything! We're almost always nearby to assist.
The folks at Yaqui's on the corner of Iowa and Cherokee are happy to watch you walk home if you felt inclined to request it. Just ask Rich, the owner - he is usually hanging out in front of Yaqui's, or ask the bouncer at the door. They're all good people, and are always ready to help folks feel safe.
No smoking cigars or cigarettes, please.
We installed new bamboo floors, so please be mindful of your luggage, take off stiletto heels inside, and make sure your pets' nails are adequately trimmed down to minimize wear and tear.
Please be courteous and reasonably quiet to other guests in the building (no parties). While you will be staying in your own private apartment, others may be staying in the building, and we wish not to disrupt anyone's privacy or peace.
Pets are allowed by permission only. Please count your pet as a guest. If they cannot be counted due to guest limits, we'll request the charge through Airbnb. Thanks for understanding.
Please clean up after your pets. The other tenants in the building have little dogs or cats, so please be mindful if your pet does not get along well with others.
Please respect the place as if it were your own and be safe. Lock doors when you leave as well as while you are inside.
If we have to clean up your vomit, we will charge you for the security deposit. These are the consequences for your indiscretions.
Cancel up to 24 hours before your trip and get a full refund. Cancel within 24 hours of your trip and the first night is non-refundable.

Camp Jessop is our name, but it's also where we live. We're artists that live, love, and work in the Cherokee neighborhood. This is a culturally and artistically diverse community built and maintained by sustainable means, and a small town "can-do" attitude. We have a studio where we make stained glass works, and paint and sculpt, among other creative media and project art.
We love to travel, though we don't do it enough. Puerto Rico has been our favorite location so far, though Jamie may say all of Route 66 is his favorite. Jamie has spent a large portion of the last few years building our 4 family duplex - our bread and butter, our heart and soul - so that we have a working studio as well as an exceptional place for creative types to live and stay in a welcome, inviting and aesthetically interesting environment.
