This is a lovely home on the edge of Taupo. There is a private back yard with outdoor furniture for relaxation. We are close to the centre of town, just a 5 minute drive or a 20 minute walk beside the river. The stunning lake is nearby.
This is a lovely home that stretches to accommodate the many people who flow through its doors. A social hub yet a place of peace and quiet too.
The price listed is per room and two bedrooms with double or queen beds are available, (See Number 3- Double Room listing as well), making it suitable for a family to book, or two couples.
Access to a shared lounge, TV, kitchen, laundry. The toilet and shower are separate from the bathroom which has a shower and bath. If other guests are staying in the second room you will share the bathroom.
Each of the two available bedrooms has a double or queen bed. I live in this home so have my own private bedroom and ensuite.
Arrangements could possibly be made to rent the entire home for a minimum of one week at a higher $ rate.
There will be plenty of opportunity for conversation and shared meals if that is what guests wish for. There is also the opportunity for privacy.
I am an English language teacher, should you require tuition. I am prepared to offer a guiding service.
This is a non- smoking home. Guests can bring their own alcohol.A simple self serve breakfast will normally be provided. However, instead of increasing my room prices over the Xmas/ NY period I am simply removing the breakfast service and you can 'bring your own'. You can cook for yourselves in a well appointed kitchen or on the barbecue. Friends are looking after my home and guests over Xmas/ NY so I am sorry I won't meet you this time.

Hi, I'm Jude. I am family oriented and have two gorgeous grown children, a photographer/ horse rider and guide, and a farmer/ shearer/ rodeo rider.
My history is in teaching, farming and parenting. I live in the lovely town of Taupo in the central North Island of New Zealand. This is one of the adventure centres of New Zealand so there is always something to do in this beautiful place; in summer for water activities and hiking and in winter too, as we have skiing close by and hot pools for soaking away the chilly days. They are some of the reasons I moved here.
I myself love to teach art, English, vocational skills and computing for beginner adults. I enjoy spending time in my beautiful home and section, to kayak and to adventure around the world. I travelled solo to Europe for 4 months in 2008, my first big OE. I explored 7 countries in that time. Since then I have adventured in Bali and kayak- camped for a week in the isolated north western Yasawa Islands of Fiji. I went to the UK to continue my explorations in June/ July 2015 and went to the Bali mountains for a writing retreat in August 2016. This year Canada calls.
My home s a hub for people of all ages...... there's always someone here, whether I am or not! My walls are elastic to accommodate everyone!
In quiet times, I love to garden, read, watch good movies, share a wine and good food with friends and family, play my guitar or ukelele, create art and take time to breathe...though I am not very good at stopping to do that.
This is a perfect place for travelers of all ages to be, to relax or as a starting point for adventure. I will help you decide what to do in the time you have available. Your breakfast will be continental, with some options, and will be simple self serve....that way you can pick your own time to rise and start your day. I hope this makes you feel relaxed and at home here at Number 3. You will have your own bathroom (shared if other friends or Airbnb guests are staying), comfortable double or queen beds, and use of the kitchen and lounge. There's a TV, free local calling and some internet reception. I work part time so may also have time to act as a guide/ driver around the area, for a fee. I am a qualified English teacher and can offer tuition in the English language.
My life motto is: 'When friends meet, hearts warm', so come and be my new friends.
Enjoy my lovely home and grounds and the central North Island of New Zealand.
See you soon,
