Whether you’re looking for a romantic getaway, a peaceful weekend or a great location for exploring New Orleans, our sweet guest house just might be perfect for you. It's in the back of our property, behind our home and across a brick patio. We're blocks from the French Quarter, music clubs on Frenchmen, St. Claude and others. Enjoy a full kitchen, queen bed, cable TV + WiFi. There are lots of coffee shops, cafes and restaurants close by, and there's great architecture everywhere you look!
Our remodeled guest cottage is tucked under a beautiful old oak tree, surrounded by lush gardens. It's at the back of our property, behind our late 19th century Victorian shotgun house in the historic Marigny neighborhood. A privacy gate at the street ensures a quiet and safe space. Though the cottage is small, the full kitchen, full closet and great layout make it comfortable for a night or a couple of weeks. There's even a little cubby with a built-in desk for your computer. And the bench out on the deck is perfect for a nap with a book under the oak tree!
In addition to the cottage deck, there's a brick patio between the cottage and house that you're welcome to use, or if we're out there, you're welcome to join us. In nice weather, it's not unusual that you might encounter a group of our friends having a cold drink and enjoying a conversation - please feel free to jump in if the spirit moves you.
My partner and I live here on the property and will be available during your stay to help with any questions or issues you might have. We enjoy visitors to our city and are excited to share anything we know. But we're also very respectful of your privacy.
We love where we live and appreciate our guests being respectful of our cottage, neighbors and neighborhood. We therefore discourage loud partying or loud music late at night.
I had been coming to New Orleans for years, but in the fall of 2014 my partner and I finally decided it was time to take the leap! Packed the car, got the dog in the backseat and drove from the Pacific NW to New Orleans. We'd owned a home in New Orleans since 2010 and finally moved in. It turned out to be a good move. We're thoroughly enjoying the rich culture, music and of course the food! There's no place quite like New Orleans and we're so happy to call it home!
