"Antica casa La Terza" is an elegantly restored late 17th century Italian country house. It has a pool, a beautiful secluded privet garden with fruit trees, vines and a large, safe playing area for kids.
It’s located 3 km from the medieval town of Soave, easily reached by car, with 3 local restaurants and shops at a short walking distance.
We have 2 family rooms and one double, all with a private en-suite bathroom and their original character and features. The rooms are fully equipped with a TV, air conditioning, orthopedic mattresses, free WIFI and a stunning view of the famous Soave Vineyards from every window as far as the eye can see.
We are famous for Our homemade breakfast of freshly home baked bread and cakes, organic homemade marmalades, yogurt, cereals and local cheeses, tea and great Italian coffee which is served in the beautifully restored old outhouse.
Our B&B is situated in the heart of "wine country" , since the owner is a winemaker himself (and an English speaker), you can count on free tips and advice regarding wine purchase and wine tours. Plus everything you’ll need to know about travelling in Italy with tips and information about: where to go, what and where to eat and drink, what to see and a peek into the local Italian country life we are also surrounded by wonderful walks and bicycle paths and blessed with perfect warm weather most of the year.
Soave is an ideal base from which to tour the north of Italy.
within 5 minutes drive From "La Terza" are the ancient Roman pools "Terme di Giunone" and a magnificent water park
we are 20 km, from Verona and Vicenza,
And at a - 50km radius, Lake Garda, Mantova, Padova and the beautiful Venezia
we'd love to have you stay with us, let us make your Italian experience, an unforgettable one!
1. the house doesn't have it's own private entrance , It is a part of a row of 17 century houses ( very typical to the Italian country side) and the entrance is through the neighbors' garden.
you'll need to take a few paces through someone else's property to get to our gate.
this is a small village,
you can't park anywhere,(there is a large parking area where you can safely leave your car), pick fruit off the many “abandoned” fruit trees, you need to keep your voice down when you return late at night and there will be occasions in which you'll be awaken by a tractor working in the vineyards.
the people here are wonderful and friendly, the mini market will sell you everything you need - and never knew that you needed...(and include gossip and advice in the local dialect...) and hearing Natalino sing in the morning as he's checking on his grapes is something that you'll never forget.
3. we have no indoor public area in which to socialize, or a kitchen to cook in.
there is the beautiful garden and pool area and really great weather most of the year...and there are 2 fantastic, very reasonably priced, restaurants and an excellent pizzeria within 5 minute walk (you can bring the pizza over and eat it by the pool... just don't let the owners catch you...)
4. the pool.
It pains us to write this since we've done all the digging and deck building with our own hands... but, it is nowhere as big or glamorous as some of the things you see out here...
a real pool is not permitted in this area because it's the old historical center and because it really disturbs the amazing view of the vineyards
what we have, is a big tub (4x8m oval) surrounded by trees and wildlife and a lovely wooden deck – which is a real treat on hot summer days! (so, if you can afford that Tuscan villa with the real pool, you should probably take it and please take us along with you too....)
5. mosquitoes. We have them in the summer!
no but ... there's actually no way to spin this one...!
They come out as the sun goes down and unless you're protected or a local (they mostly pick on tourists...), you'll get eaten alive.
The city and the region are working on ways to solve the problem, and, in some years they've actually succeeded, but until they'll come come up with a real solution –
bring bug spray!!!.
... The thing is, you'll have that same problem EVERYWHERE else, only they won't tell you about it (not everyone is as nice as us...) and if the place that you're staying at doesn't have mosquitoes... than someone is spraying like crazy every 5 minutes! In which case, let's face it, you've got a bigger problem then mosquitoes.
So, if we haven't scared you away and you're still reading this and want to stay with us – you're our kind of person! And we'd love to have you!

i'm Taffy and i'm the owner of B&B 'Antica casa La Terza' in Soave, Verona.
We opened The B&B in 2005 after we've lovingly restored this 17th century country house it to its old glory.
We have a wonderful garden of flowers and fruit trees, to which we constantly keep adding,
We are particularly proud of our home made breakfast of freshly made home baked breads and cakes, organic home made marmalades, yoghurts, cereals and local cheeses. It is served in the a beautifully restored old outhouse.
My husband, the wine maker will give you all the inside information regarding wineries and wine in the whole north of Italy and i'll give you all the information on where to go and what to see.
Our dog Sanscio will get in the way and our two cats will ignore you and keep sleeping in the sun.
we'd love to have you here with us.
